Relief for Yemen as Hodeidah Ceasefire is Reached, While US House Undermines Efforts to End Complicity in War

While progressive U.S. lawmakers' efforts to take meaningful action to end American involvement in the Saudi-led assault on Yemen were stymied this week, human rights groups expressed relief that progress was made across the Atlantic in United Nations-led peace talks in Sweden, with both sides of the conflict in Yemen agreeing to an immediate ceasefire in the port city of Hodeidah.

Does that mean our munitions factories can shut down for maintenance, and employees a day or two off? The MIC must cringe a the words “cease fire.”

Lest we forget, the assault on Yemen began under our Nobel Peace laureate president Barack Obama.

A map would clarify the issues. Yemen is a small poor country. Saudi Arabia is a big rich country. Yemen sits on the coast of the Arabia Sea and blocks The Saud’s access.
Extensive press on the Yemen crisis and hardly a single clear map.

Most of the the the US’ military involvement goes like this. Strategic points, all. Afghanistan? Quite in the middle of all the action!
