Decades of regressive tax cuts and subsequent budget cuts have undermined the rosy reality of higher education in California. Resulting tuition increases have shifted the cost of college on to students and their parents.
Sounds great except that we can’t force the oligarchy to tax itself because it would violate their only corporate law, to make as much money as possible for its shareholders, mostly for itself.
Who makes the tax laws but the oligarchy itself? Taxation could be the greatest trick the oligarchy ever pulled.
California needs to introduce a proposition that eliminates all taxes, caps personal wealth by yearly referendum to end oligarchy, and distributes the excess wealth equally among all Californians. Let the people decide what if any kind of government they want.
Well, Prop 13 didn’t help. I guess you don’t want to pay taxes, you gonna have to pay for “free” stuff out of pocket.
