Revolting Against Speaker's Refusal to Act, Pelosi's Own Leadership Team Demands Trump Impeachment Proceedings

Revolting Against Speaker's Refusal to Act, Pelosi's Own Leadership Team Demands Trump Impeachment Proceedings

Jake Johnson, staff writer

After the Trump administration instructed former White House counsel Don McGahn to refuse to comply with a Judiciary Committee subpoena to testify, several members of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's leadership team privately confronted the Democratic leader late Monday and demanded impeachment proceedings against the president immediately in response to the latest attempt to stonewall congressional oversight.

Some House Democrat needs to file a motion to vacate the Speaker of the House, Ms. Pelosi, and call for a new election. The process is not proven, yet it would at least serve as a wake up call that the current course is unacceptable. The People also need to rise up and stir up a shit storm calling for impeachment, which seems to be the best way to air the dirty laundry of Team Trump. (OK, a little brain bleach might be needed for that.) Letting Trump play this out as a reality TV show is well past its expiration date. “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set ye free.”

I don’t know why Dems can’ come up with a coherent strategy on how to proceed on this. They have control of the timeline and can control the timing as well as the length and depth they want to go into this process.

From what I understand, there is more than enough evidence in the Mueller report to start an impeachment inquiry. To an extent, the documents and testimony are icing on the cake. And the courts seem to be siding with them on the ridiculous attempts by Trump and Barr to block them - keep those going. Opening an impeachment inquiry will only strengthen their hand.

Also, the Dems need a clear public relations plan and strategy to explain in simple form what they are doing and why they are doing it. They need to counter to lies and fake news that will come out of Trump’s mouth. Sad that this is necessary and the obvious is not enough to convince many Americans of Trump’s malfeasance. Dems have proven to be really bad at this, particularly leadership - case in point, the current place Pelosi and company find themselves.

Time to stop worrying about the 1/3 of people who support Trump and start thinking about the 2/3 of people who want Trump gone whether that be through impeachment or the 2020 election. Keep moving forward on the impeachment process - which is clearly warranted - and make the case for actually taking on the many challenging problems we face as a nation and globally.

The “strategy” employed by the Dem so-called “opposition party” has failed the party, the people, and our republic by their timidity and de facto complicity with business as usual…They have served the predatory nature and reality of American corporate, banker, wall street, health-care, education, and for-profit war-machine/arms industry have stolen the future from millions and diverted (aka stole) trillions from civilian priorities and needs to military/police waste and corruption!

The DINO leadership is up to its entrenched neck in this mechanism and those who “lead” must alter course. Pelosi, Schumer, and all the other Quisling functionaries, betrayers, refuse to serve the people or the Democratic/Independent base of America and they also need to be “impeached” if they refuse to change course.

Einstein famously:said:*“the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result”.*The Dem
strategists and politicians have lost election after election, seats in Congress, and especially the narrative - the trust of the people, ie voters, who see little real representation of, by and FOR the “little people”, little real difference from entrenched DINO politicians. From Bill Clinton, to Obama, to Hillary, to Wall street Joe Biden the Democrats, to Pelosi and Schumer, they have failed to lead and represent the people and refused to alter their failure! ENOUGH!

Pelosi’s net worth is over $100 million - who does she actually serve?
Sanders worth is $2.5 million, $1.7M of which is from his book.

The only voice consistently working for people’s interests is Bernie Sanders, in word and deed!

Old Impeachment’s is off the table Pelosi is at it again. She has been a hindrance to the Progressive Democrats all along. She represents the rich establishment side of the Democratic Party, and only pretends to have concerns for working people. She is a Republican in disguise. If the Democrats are going to move forward they must move her aside.

The most effective speaker in history got her big tent wish. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer centrist.

Dirty Nancy needs a bath. The water would be filthy. That’s the only reason I can think of why she refuses to comply. One can only imagine what they’d find on her if they started digging into how she became one of the richest people in Congress.

From what I’ve read, Pelosi’s position doesn’t have a lot to do with a big tent. It looks like a fairly broad array of the caucus is done with pissing around. She’s fighting the past—she’s talked about 1998 repeatedly—and believes impeachment will take policy off the table and has said so. I think she’s wrong, so do you, so does lots of her caucus.

The thing is, to open an impeachment inquiry isn’t impeachment. And, if the evidence supports impeachment, then it does.

I guarantee that a relationship exists between how blue a district is and how in favor of an impeachment inquiry their rep is. Pelosi is signaling that her caucus can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.

She may be right.

I’m sure you are right some of that is in play, but reporting seems to indicate the caucus isn’t down the line like that.

Maybe someone needs to remind Congresswoman Pelosi that if she can successfully rid the world of Trump and Pence, she will become the U.S. President. The 46th U.S. President.

Can we not just put Trump and Pence names on impeachment documents, and impeach them one after the other to save taxpayers money. There is acres of evidence to put both Trump and Pence on trial. Lets get creative America!

I’m so disgusted by blue blind democrats. Pelosi and her ilk benefit from the horror show that’s the trump Whitehouse. Nixon’s team finally gets their king… it only took 45 years to get their demagogue and chief… Now we’re going into full overt fascism. Our system of checks and balances, is completely broken. The shitty statement “It’s not a crime when the president does it” echoes through time to haunt those who refuse to learn history and are therefore damned to repeat it. We’re fucked.

Speak it, Emphyrio! I wish more could get past their old programming that the damnocrats are an opposition party. THAT hasn’t been the case since not long after Kennedy was CIAed!

I think her idea is that this is “good strategy” for 2020. Avoid pissing off the few R voters who are thinking of switching sides and reinforce an image with Dem voters that the Dems are the party of civility.

It might backfire if enough Dems realize that civility doesn’t equal despotic enabling.

When members of Pelosi’s own team want to just investigate impeachment, not actually officially begin impeachment, and Pelosi won’t budge, then it’s time to investigate Pelosi. Her arguments against impeachment now appear more phony with each passing day. Her corrupt business as usual stubbornness is no way to turn out the vote and beat Trump in 2020, unless, of course, the party establishment is more worried about protecting its power than beating Trump.

Way past time for another old hag to take a long, long walk in the woods.

Perhaps you’re on to something. Maybe, deep down, Pelosi realizes just how incompetent and incapable she really is?

The Dems should impeach Pelosi first, then Trump.
