Good information. The business lobby fought ferociously against Social Security, the National Labor Relations Act and other New Deal legislation but the Dems won. We can do this.

Yes—IF conservaDems like Manchin, Harris and others will get out of the way.

Note to all National State and Senate Representatives:

Now is the time for all duly-elected individuals to stand side-by-side with their constituents.

I think it’s time we all made a decision that THIS crap they call Medicare ain’t workin’ and we don’t want to live in the streets, go bankrupt or die because of Medical Bills, Ridiculous Drug prices and Greed. So let this new Coalition get to work and get it done!!! And not by 2030 when Seniors and many others will already be dead! We can’t wait one more year!!! Anyone in Congress who has a problem with their voters having affordable healthcare as a Right, should step aside!

This story is the reason IMO that the transition to expanded, improved, M4A needs to happen as fast as possible, once the legislation is passed. Doing the “slow walk” for years, as many advocate for, will only allow these special interest groups to weaken the resolve of congress members who support M4A, and possibly bribe them into rolling back all or some the coverage it provides, possibly even before those sections of coverage are even implemented.
Rip the infected Band-Aid off and neuter the insurance industry as fast as possible, effectively eliminating their bribery potential. For those of you worried about the insurance industry employees, I’ll ask why? They know they work for a corrupt industry. Did we worry about the Mafia employees, when their world came crashing down?

Easy to understand - there is no clearer example of where big business, corporate interests and the oligarchy are fighting to not only stymie what the majority wants but also what is best. Bernie is right, to change this will take a mass movement demanding that Congress follow the will of the people and, furthermore, it is my feeling that he is the only politician in that crowded field who can possibly harness the energy and enthusiasm it will take to make this critically important change. That is why the DNC will fight to stop him, they are corporate owned and not on our side.

Many of us face life or death situations here. That’s why I mentioned 2030! These people never work fast enuf to solve any problem, which gives them the opportunity to Water it down or forget about it completely. Not time to waste here with Americans being afraid to go to a Hospital.

That’s not fair against the employees. They are mostly just like you and me just trying to hang on. They will get jobs all around the country working for Medicare for all in states, cities and counties.

Don’t care, they work for a corrupt industry that bankrupts average Americans, and they know it. They should get out now, and find honest employment. And no, they’re not like me, I wont work for crooks or scam artists. Years ago I turned down a lucrative job selling timeshare condo’s, because I didn’t want to stealthily rob people who couldn’t afford it on my conscious. I made a lot less money with my career choice, but at least I could sleep at night.

It should be common knowledge to anyone that the US system is hopelessly broken as far as Health Care is concerned. That people have to come to Canada just to get Insulin is just the tip of the iceberg. Every measure done by agencies the world over shows the US system is the worlds most expensive even as the life expectancy of its Citizens drops and even as health care outcomes as compared to other Nations with Universal care is 3rd rate.

The Industry knows this yet are defending that system. There no other way to spin this other then they are defending the PROFITS they stand to make. They are not concerned in the least about the well being of the people in spite of their words because the facts show their words are all lies.

Just as this lobbying increase is about defending Profits and only about defending profits, any Politician in any of the Political parties down there that insists the current model fine and only needs tweaks is concerned ONLY about the Profits of that industry. It can not be about anything else.

Don’t live in the street, Buy a used travel trailer, park it a WalMart parking lot in a red district that has been gerrymandered and vote for the Socialist.

Our “health” care system is sick, been that way for decades. The problem isn’t “Profit” as mentioned above, but government-backed monopoly profit. In other words, Fascism, the collusion of government and industry working against the best interests of the people. It is government protecting sky-high priced medical care, and working against many natural methods and products that often are much more safer and effective. The latest is allowing Google to to trash Dr. Mercola and others with their controlled search engine. The government says it is OK to give wafarin rat poison to thin the blood but you had better not talk about fish oil doing the same or you could lose your license. There is a lot to be said for dumping the insurance companies and their obscene profits and bloated CEO salaries. Yet on the other hand I am concerned if government is in charge of health care they could start mandating things such as mandatory vaccinations, or toxic drugs, or invasive/abusive health control. If we ever get a sane health care system, it would have to include a patient bill of rights that gives the individual 100% the right to reject any medical procedure, vaccination, or drug. And did I say 100%! Here in Oregon the Democrat super majority almost passed mandatory vaccinations for kids as if they owned them – Government fascism for the vaccination industry! It’s odd but the primary problem with health care is government, but the solution is also government. Obummercare keeping the insurance industry intact was a disaster for most people. Prices went up, people lost their doctor, just about everything promised went south. Sure some folks who never had insurance before benefited but at an outrageous and unfair cost to everyone else.

Question: Is the government too damn corrupt and broken to create a healthy health care system? Gopherit

I was receiving Quora in my Yahoo mail inbox. Quora has some vigorous discussions about the problems with US health care. Corporate mouthpieces could get no traction. Suddenly Quora stopped coming to my inbox and I can see no way to restore it. I suspect some entity associated with the insurance industry had a hand in this subterfuge.

Actually, they have priority in the new system and will have the option of new training. As a long supporter and activist for both Expanded, Improved Medicare For All and labor, I stand with labor too.

All very true: All one needs to do is review the US American history, its genocide of the indigenes to steal land so as to force kidnapped Africans and their descendants to work it as slaves to enrich hordes of white trash from Europe to understand the mind set. Very different from Canada but we have a hell of a good fight on our hands.

I share your view. Also, found it telling the contradictions of a so-called christian based community that is so enmeshed in the capitalist system. Most of these churches upheld slavery and disregarded–at best–the indigenes.

I read Uncle Tom’s Cabin which, unfortunately, has received many negative comments and which gave rise to the slur “uncle tom”. Tom is actually portrayed as a saintly hero in the story and made me think of Louis Armstrong as that gentle genius of the trumpet.
