Sanders 'Talks Shop' and Socialism with Renowned Rapper

Lauren McCauley, staff writer

"I didn't get into politics to figure how I could become President or a senator. I got into politics because I give a damn," said Bernie Sanders, seated in a barbershop chair in Atlanta.

In an interview published on Tuesday, the senator from Vermont and presidential contender talked frankly with rapper and activist Killer Mike about everything from socialism to marijuana, from social justice to voter ID laws.

never heard of Killer so looked up his lyrics; gotta ask how the fuck someone so boorishly inane can have a successful career, but understand that the bar is set pretty low for rap lyrics. Really looking forward to hearing Berni drop some of these killer rhymes:

"After high school, I gained lots of weight
And I ain't talkin' bout calories put on by steak
The recipe I'm cookin' may send me upstate
Use bakin' soda, cook the pie, collect cake
Now Pillsbury, these niggaz kick down doors
Find out what mills bury
Shit's very intense and criti-cal
And when we drew pistols shit got piti-ful
The first lick was bullshit, a half a brick
We robbed the middle man and a bum bitch, the dumb bitch
But between me and him and that hoe
We walked away with 18 and a bigger score
Some nigga named Salvatore from El Salvador
Got silver teeth and a scar on his jaw
Young Antonio Montana, held up mansion north Atlanta
We hit'em hard as doors hammer, yea!'

aren't we impressed that Mikey rhymed pillsbury / millsbury ?

what next? Hillary Clinton spewing Nikki Minaj lame ass lunacy?

Bernie lost my vote

Great interview talking real. Distributed human intelligence is the power of the people. Smart, healthy, secure people make a strong nation. Interesting platform.

Sorry Bernie; a correction to your history. The USA was started as a tax dodge.

so my post was hidden b/c I quoted the sexist lyric of the bad rhymer who endorsed Bernie? That is outrageous. Are people offended that I reminded them that the rapper built his career by using words Common Dreams thinks should be censored? Two Live Crew must be spinning in their caskets.
