The need for a complete overhaul, from the bottom up not the top down, becomes clearer and clearer. How can Sheldon Whitehouse support such BS? Is he just another corporate Dem sellout? How disappointing!

Just wondering: why don’t tax cuts for billionaires and more gravy for the Pentagon add to the deficit?

First priority is to purge Trump Mafia and GOP from government.
Only slightly less important is to purge corporate, sellout Dems from government.
Third is to destroy the two-party duopoly.

which require all new spending to be offset with budget cuts or tax increases.

Game on. We will cut the Defense budget to the bone and raise the taxes of the one percent to where they were in the 1950’s.

Exactly. Replace as many R’s with D’s and as many centrist D’s with Progressives. Then when any Dems continue to vote with republicans, or more to the point, AS republicans, primary the heck out of them and get Progressives elected. All the while reforming the whole effing electoral process with ranked choice voting being the least of the reforms.

At this point I would compare reforming the Democrats from within to remodeling a house by starting over with the exception of a single brick.

But here’s the good news: Climate chaos will soon be here in full force to render politics moot.

Plenty of demons in the democratic party. The masks are coming off.

Yes. Nature is doing its job. Bringing a barbaric, sick, and spiritually collapsed society back into balance.

Republicans are a lost cause but Dem centrists have to go.

Number one on the agenda would be money and revolving doors out of politics.

demonstrating once more that there are only two parties in the USA, the money party and the people party.

the money party consists of Alll of the republicans, and a significant portion of the democrats…
the people party consists of a small fraction of the democrats and the vast majority of the voting public.

endless funds for tax-cuts for multi-millionaires and billionaires… infinite funds for bombs tanks and guns… unending subsidies for the most profitable corporations in the history of humankind…

not a pittance for the people.

Good luck with all three. It’s a self serving machine. It seems to only get stronger and more corrupt.

and yet, we will still hear incessantly about how the mainstream media is leftwing.

This is one of the reasons the Dems are holding impeachment hearings now.

Gives them cover to pursue their true agenda, which is the same as the Republicans’, except perhaps slightly more polite language.

The only thing worse than the fact that Trump is POTUS is the fact that people think that Democrats are opposition. But they are not. They are his enablers now, & when he is gone they will normalize every last bit of Trump awfulness the same way Obama normalized & expanded all the Bush awfulness.

You mean the tax cuts that they want the working class and middle class to pay for by cutting services and programs the wealthy don’t need? Those tax cuts? Heck someone has to pay for them. How can you call it a tax cut if you ask the people that benefit from it to pay for it?

In olden times it was stomp the peasants and make them pay. Seems kind of similar to now when adjusted for inflation!
