'Shame on You!' Outrage After Trump Falsely Claims That '3,000 People Did Not Die' in Puerto Rico From Hurricane

Jake Johnson, staff writer

President Donald Trump has been "lying about Puerto Rico from the start to make himself look better," and on Thursday morning Trump lied once more by falsely claiming that a widely accepted academic study showing that nearly 3,000 Puerto Ricans died as a result of Hurricane Maria was "done by the Democrats" in an attempt to make him "look as bad as possible."

“Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.”
-President John Adams

#3

well it’s not the craziest thing he has said, but it’s close. hasn’t everyone realized that he takes responsibility for nothing, ever. it is always someone elses fault

#4

To be expected. Trump is literally incapable of admitting a mistake. That should be obvious by now.

#5

If this is not enough to invoke the 25th, then Trump can literally do anything and the GOP will just enable him like the families of alcoholics/addicts do. Trump is as mentally insane as they come and anyone who supports the GOP are just as insane. The USA is dead and gone now. And the Democrats are not the answer either. Adios USA.

#6

Well, there’s Hitler, child molesters, torturers, and their ilk. trump’s even worse. I don’t think pity will be taken.

Just when you think he couldn’t sink lower…he does. The soul of this country will be exposed for the world to see in November.

Drumpf sez: “… 3,000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. … This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible…”

Not a lie, but the sacrosanct word of our Lord from the Gospel of Donald, 11:9.

Blind Faith made a pretty sweet rock combo, but it’s a lousy foundation for a political base.

#11

The US duopoly, especially the GOP has been faith based for at least the past half century.

Seeing how successful Holocaust deniers had been for decades the GOP tasked Palin to launch the fake news campaign centering on Obama being a foreign born Moslem associating with terrorists that morphed into Trump leading the birther movement that morphed into his 2016 campaign that never met a myth it didn’t love and cranked out new myths at the speed of light that cult 45 soaked up like a sponge.

While Trump’s rants against fake news are valid, he fails to mention that he, the GOP and its fox news (faux noise) originate more fake news than all other sources combined.

Evangelicals adding a Donald chapter to the Bible would come as no surprise at this point.

WHY is this man not SERIOUSLY being diagnosed and PUT AWAY???!!!

Two quotes that work now

In a Time of Universal Deceit, Telling the Truth is a Revolutionary Act." George Orwell

“Tell a Lie Big Enough, Often Enough, It Becomes the Truth.” Joseph Goebbles

#14

Yes. And, pace Abraham Lincoln, “You can now fool enough of the people enough of the time.”

#15

Lying and repeating, then repeating over and over again have worked for republicans for decades. How did the country get to the point where lying and money laundering is the norm.

There has been no accountability for years by either party. Policies put in place with loopholes that allow both. We expect the liars to hold themselves accountable? What a joke.

Lamestreet media has been complicit in the lies and non information for 4 decades. We the people will here it here and many other progressive sites but then the rest of the population won’t here anything out of lamestreet media which includes some supposedly liberal sites.

It pays to be a liar and corrupt and everyone is watching this and want some of the gains for themselves and their families. Pretty disgusting what NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC have created in this globalized world.

Trump demonstrates crass idiocy for the thousandth time. But let’s not get distracted.

Remember, there is a live hurricane about to hit the Carolinas and beyond.

Remember, NO on Kavanaugh - let your senators know and know there will be consequences for voting the wrong way.

Remember, there is a Global Climate Action Summit taking place in San Francisco. Despite Trump, they’ll push for action and solutions at least part way in a bureaucratic way and it is up to us to implement them in each of our communities.

#17

That is true! You and the rest of your people’s lives in Puerto Rico do matter to most sane Americans, but of course Trump has shown over and over again…

#18

THAT is a downfall of our own making. WE SHOULD BE HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE AND TAKING ACTION AGAINST THEM! But, NO…we type our outrage instead. What good can come from that? The answer is apparent as the stealing of the country goes on nearly unobstructed.

#19

Bingo! Like I have posted before, how can the average American citizen ever expect accountability when the corrupted, unjust are tried by the corrupted, unjust.

One cannot listen to bb (Big Brother) in the background of daily life, and then go out and live and expect not to carry that bellyfeel with you.

A Microcosm:
At Boss and Nana’s house, the prolefeed on the nice big telescreen runs all day and evening. The blackwhite is inter-generational, with children and grandchildren coming and going, while the MSM prolefeed oozes constantly from the central den, spreading throughout the house.

So we have 3 generations all in perfect doublethink harmony.

Turn off the telescreen if you want to think for yourselves.
