I care more about convincing 12 jurors to convict Trump, than I care about what 45 or so fascist Senators think.
I support impeachment, mostly because its important that everyone know exactly where the Q’publicans stand concerning their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. But, the real charges against Trump & Friends need to be in a courtroom.

I was thinking a lot of things when I watched this video. We have all seen some of this before. How can there be any doubt that Trump incited this riot, this insurrection? Some Republicans, many in fact, are trying to blame BLM, Antifa and other left-wing groups for this. Is there any doubt in anyone’s mind that these were Trump supporters? Many Republicans are using the big lie technique that Trump, and Hitler before him, used with limited but devastating success.
Trump may have, quite likely, destroyed what was left of this country. He destroys everything and everyone he touches yet the GOP Senators are acting like nothing happened or that Trump shouldn’t be held liable for this crime on Jan 6. And also the Dems failed to charge Trump with all the crimes this piece of shit routinely perpetrated throughout his four years, and indeed, throughout his whole miserable lying, cheating criminal life. How stupid are the American people anyway?

Looks like a CIA op to me. The same bullshit we’ve seen over and over again in various, mostly Third World, countries. But get a grip - this wasn’t an insurrection, it was a bunch of half-baked clowns carrying their telephones for selfies being egged-on by a few probable paid “protesters”, giving the oligarchs reason to further clamp down on anything that opposes their agenda.

As if “paid protesters” were needed. Where have you been the last four years? Why not just go with the ‘it’s Antifa imitating MAGA people’ or ‘it’s BLM and blacks in whiteface imitating MAGA people.’ There were certainly no Trump disciples there , it’s all photoshopped, right? Just because his supporters didn’t pull it off didn’t make it less serious or dangerous.

And, here in western PA, the MAGA mother of eight who was seen using a battering ram to break into the capital building, and then using a bullhorn to shout instructions to fellow invaders, made bail today. And only $10,000 unsecured. The local federal attorney of course appealed, but it will stand and she will be released tomorrow.
This folks is the definition of white privilege. Can you imagine a BLM protester, perpetrating the same crimes, even getting a bail hearing?
Now we will watch as this criminal will fade into the white Pennsyltucky landscape and never again see the inside of a courtroom.

That’s bad, but this is worse, a Trump judge allowed one of them to take a vacation to Mexico, because it was “pre-paid”, and the judge didn’t want her to lose her money.

Trump has been involved in fraud since his daddy took him to construction sites and apartment buildings. Therefore, he sees fraud all around him. And he can turn on his own supporters at the drop of a dime if it will ensure his own freedom.
One terrifying moment was his opening speech, where he looked like the epitome of every image of a Mafia boss or banana republic dictator telling the mob what to do. Even more terrifying is…Trump actually believes the election was stolen and was fraudulent. If he were given a PET scan asking about these events, the areas of his brain controlling showing a statement was true would light up like a spotlight. And so would the brains of his Base. We’re talking both limbic system and frontal lobes.

Funny you bring that up. In a inside photo of the insurrection here on CD, amongst all the turmoil there’s a man who stands out from all the others in the photo, he’s the only one wearing a suit and doesn’t seem to be involved in the turmoil. It made me wonder.

Akayev was “the only leader of a former Soviet republic in Central Asia to have been democratically elected, and he fled into exile.”
His regime’s sin “was their demand for higher rent payments from the US to use the Bishkek airport as a base for bombing runs into Afghanistan.”
“According to one study, the US interfered overtly or covertly in the free elections of 81 foreign countries between 1946 and 2000,” and Rall also notes the litany of interferences and insurrections since then, and adds, “This is, by necessity, a truncated list.”

You know… apart from the obvious Horrors and Absurdities of this, the really absurd, beyond-sad thing, is that these mobsters are Unhappy and Angry - and they think Trump is the answer to their woes!? They think he cares about them!? I don’t know whether psychological damage helps one to lose all-reason, but it is clear to me that this Empty Sociopath Extreme has nothing inside him really to care. As all psychologists would attest, he has an extreme version of NPD. But I don’t think these mobsters give a damn about that! Something in the seeds this Unconscious Fool has stoked, bring this out!

Trying to overturn, by force, the result of a general election is by definition an act of insurrection. As for paid protestors, this is nonsense. These aren’t paid agents provocateurs, but how many right wingers behave in the US, given the opportunity. There are two fascist parties, both approved by the state, and one of them is now fully prepared to use violence in the streets as fascist groups have traditionally done for decades. Since there will be no real consequences for those who instigate such fascistic violence, it will get worse and Biden is too feeble to do anything substantive about it, at least not without going cap in hand to his owners and the very people who want non right wingers dead, and asking their permission first, which is the same thing. The American experiment is over and it failed.

Of course Trump and the politicians who supported this violent demonstration should be prosecuted. But as we wait for Congress to get around to moving to provide scant relief to Americans, I can’t help but notice how quickly Congress can move when it is THEIR WELL BEING that is in jeopardy. And the horror and fear that they felt and have been expressing constantly since this event; how does that compare to the horror and fear that millions experience as a result of the war crimes and aggression that results from their votes to promote foreign wars and incursions? I guess it all comes down to whose ox is being gored.
