Sierra Club Statement on Campaign Announcement by Bernie Sanders

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders announced he would officially begin his campaign for President of the United States.

The Sierra Club has not yet begun any endorsement process for the 2016 Presidential election.

In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:

TO: Michael Brune, Executive Director, Sierra Club

Yes, like you I look forward to a wider public discussion of climate change and its repercussions.

I am even more hopeful about Senator Sanders making people beyond Vermont aware of how the INVESTOR STATE chapter of the Trans Pacific Partnership would undermine our country's laws.

It is somewhat disheartening that some people see Bernie's main value as being a force that drives killary to the left. Beware!!!! That woman will use all her guile and intelligence to manipulate and lie her way all the way back to the White House. She will use Warren, Bernie, and whomever else as "welcome colleagues" whose values and platforms she pretends are SOOOO related to hers. She was probably a cowbird in an earlier life.

Hillary Clinton will be the final death knell for this nation, but we shall be given no other
realistic choice.
