I blame Joe Biden.
He could have stopped this bullshit 8 months ago. He could have issued, and still can issue, a full pardon. He could have brought to bare the full weight of the federal government against Chevron for this clearly Orwellian fascist attempt to intimidate any and all activists that speak out against Big Petroleum.

But Joe hasn’t. And he won’t. Guess we know who Joe works for.

This is a case in point of why the phrase “the rule of law” rings hollow.

We want/need justice - not the rule of law.

Hmmm I wonder if anyone is looking for a rail for that disgusting Kaplan judge, just so he can take a trip out of town. Maybe to Ecuador ? Perhaps Ecuador should demand that Kaplan be handed over to them and have a proper trial in the out in the woods and around the polluted land and water ? : )

The Judges who’ve touched this case are clearly corrupt. The appalling lack of honorable behavior on the judicial side of this matter further indicates that the only remedy for our ills may be revolution. There is no institution where ordinary citizens can reasonably expect redress for wrongs remaining in America.

There hadn’t been any doubt for 35 years when Obama, the Bankers Buddy, picked him to help serve the finance industry. He’s been at the center of the right turn of the Democrat Party the whole time, he would have been one of the leaders had he been bright enough in his prime. Back when NBC reported news. he was exposed as a plagiarizer and unfit candidate. An informed public would never choose such a shill, so he had to wait until the media was controlled. And by then they wouldn’t even report on his sexual assaults on staff.

We can see the power of a company like Chevron in the fact that this site is how I learned about Donziger’s sentence. Corporate media, including MSNBC and CNN have totally ignored this story, period. I’m sure that outside of a few independent sources, like The Hill, Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti’s Breaking Points, and DemocracyNOW!, it will be hard to find any general media outrage over this. Until we take away corporate political power and influence this crap will continue.
