Slow Down Fast Track

Senator Bernie Sanders

WASHINGTON - Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today opposed an effort to rush legislation through a Senate committee in order to hurry congressional approval of a controversial trade deal known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Sanders invoked a Senate rule to stop a morning meeting of the Finance Committee to mark up the so-called fast-track bill.

When our Senators and Congresspeople vote to allow American laws to be overridden by the Investor State provisions of the Trans Pacific Partnership… …then those Senators and Congresspeople should RESIGN (except for those such as Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders who seek to UPHOLD our laws).
