I remember the 2000 election, which was the first time that spending by all parties in a Presidential election exceeded $100 million. Now J.E. Bush's PAC alone has more than that, and he's polling in single digits.
My hope is that the overwhelming crush of ads and propaganda is going to piss off the average voter, affecting them in the opposite manner than desired. That tends to be my reaction to excessive advertising, and I'm noticing like reactions from my co-workers (who are admittedly a bunch of lunatics, but they do all vote).
