'Some May Freeze To Death': Sanders Confronts Mulvaney Over Trump Budget That Would Kill 'Tens of Thousands'

If you think that mere elections will solve the problem, then you are dreaming.

Exactly- but the workers will dredge Florida just so his estate is in good shape.

Mick Mulvaney would not care one whit if tens of thousands of Americans died as a result of his cult leader’s budget.

You’re correct, but its the greedy pastors that your comment most applies to. The rank and file are sheep, often with medicaid or food stamps themselves, not connecting that they are at risk from the politicians they support. When I say no one is holding their feet to the fire, I mean in public discourse and in the media. People, especially reporters, are squeamish about challenging people about their religious beliefs. Yet their beliefs are the basis for secular rule presently being pushed by the ruing elites. They’ve formed an unholy alliance with the evangelicals in order to enact their economic agenda The evangelicals must be challenged and debated on their (religious) terms. Perhaps some of the fools in the congregation would see the light.

So true. Dems have moved so far right that they are now the equivalent of the old Eisenhower Republicans.

Mulvaney is an idiot. Trump plucked him from the S.C. hinterlands where he was an idiot there, too. Glad to be rid of him (just like with Nikki Haley), but seems we always replace one idiot with another one or maybe even two. He will crash and burn, though. Someone is bound to ask him to add two and two and he’s sure to come up with three or five!

You can also tell when he’s lying because his fingers are on his keyboard.

Thank you.

Let’s go back to the theme of the article. Some may freeze to death, and the Republicans couldn’t care less. Trump couldn’t care less. Republicans under Trump couldn’t care less. They want to be the government of the rich, by the rich and for the rich. The government of corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations.

The part that is really devastating is the near total lack of involvement of the American people in the last election… The 2016 election was the worst voter turn out in 70 years. So what’s happening seems like Trump getting away with freezing the lower class to death by way of total apathy of the American public.

Hello N81Der, Prick Mulvaney would cheer the deaths of thousands of dying and have an orgasm each and every time that one of them froze to death!!! Whata SCUM!!!

Hello blackjack, The Dems are so far to the right that the old Eisenhower Republican would be considered socialists by comparison!

So many of the Christian clergy are play acting. They don’t really subscribe to the words of Jesus. They are very much like our lying politicians in this regard. They are, in fact, full of shit. And their followers are extremely gullible.

Right; the US military is perhaps the ugliest, most polluting, inhuman, mind-numbingly evil institution the world has ever seen. No left agenda can survive in the absence of a pervasive push for peace.

Bernie, Warren, and a couple other Dems speak out about this bullshit budget , but all I hear from the rest of the Dems are cricket sounds,

As Dr. King once observed, a gov’t budget is a moral document, reflecting as it does the gov’t’s priorities. What if, instead of these vapid (but lucrative!) TV “debates,” candidates were required to submit a proposed budget, with all its assumptions and projections, for their first year in office? And what if the failure of a successful candidate to implement that budget were grounds for impeachment?

(not that the “two-party” long con would tolerate such a thing for one hot minute)

Evangelicals believe in the Rapture, does anymore need to be said?

Bernies ALL we have!

True but I can’t help but think that if the corporate Democrats had allowed a fair process with Bernie ( an example of a real leader imo) there would have been less apathy. Also, the American public is disenfranchised, exhausted, worried, sick, poor or close to being poor, and most importantly uninformed. Rather than blame the victim I blame the corporate media and the corporate fundamental religions for the public’s lack of knowledge by their “fixing of the information” and therefore creating apathy. As for Democrats: isn’t it telling that you never hear anyone but Bernie speaking out for the citizenry in the manner in which he does. They should take lessons on how to be leaders.

These so -called christians are no different than the religious, political, power structure that crucified Jesus.

No wonder Jesus has not returned, he knows the pharisees are now the evangelicals who would crucify him again!

Just who, or what is lording it over the evangelicals? Why are they so blind to, deaf to, Jesus’ teachings? Who or what corrupted them so? Jesus did warn about false teachers; and how even the elect might be deceived… If any Evangelicals happen to be reading this: you know, nothing is stopping you from reading the mere 250 or so pages of the four gospels of Jesus. In reading Matthew, Mark, Luke and John you will begin to comprehend the real nature of the Son of God the Creator. You will read where he says, “He who believeth in me and abideth by my sayings…” In so doing may you awaken to the true path to salvation.

Yes, but even the noise from crickets can be deafening and impossible to ignore if and when they will all sing together.
