These young folks must feel like cancer patients visiting their doctor Schumer.“Doc what are you going to do about my progressive cancer?”
Schumer: Well there is more money in removing one of your kidney’s, (oil), so that’s what we are going to do instead of beginning cancer treatment.
Patient: But I might die if you don’t fight the cancer post haste.
Schumer: Sorry kid, that’s the way we roll in leadership.
Patient: You’re a quack, I’m getting a new doctor.

Where is Schumer? Hiding in the closet? Meeting with fossil fuel lobbyists? Too busy to talk to common citizens apparently.

Schumer is less a doctor than an HMO exec with no medical training. Very good with actuarial tables, however.

Keep the pressure on, Sunrise Movement. And everyone else too.

I support these young people, but they need to keep it real: Schumer takes his marching orders from his corporate masters, especially on Wall St.

Thus, the most these protesters will get from him is lip service. And he won’t step aside until his ass is voted out.

Most of us watching the climate change ordeal get the plan idea, but we need to know why leaders are so slow to act. Great links by the way.
We know we are in deep shit when democrat leaders choose to forcibly have protesters removed. We will find out soon enough if the young planet saviors stick to their guns.

Exactly! Despite Chucks double talk about supporting any Green New Deal, the only real green deal he really supports is a greenback new deal!

I so love the idealism of youth! AOC is right - we need to primary these dinosaurs. Protests are something for the archaic to run away from. They don’t want to hear what ‘ordinary’ people have to say, especially young people. Ah, but the DINOs days are numbered, and youth will win out. What’s not clear is if they will be in time. DINOs are heavy obstacles.

Schumer and Pelosi are probably thinking back to how Occupy was put down and wondering how they might use the same strategies to put down these protesters. How dare they challenge the great Oz of our government.

One time the leaders of today were the young people. What happened to those young people?

Yes, when it comes to that Congress is very, very green. Maybe that is their problem - they are confused by what green actually means. We think environmental care and progress - they think about feeding at the trough.

Yay, youth - showing up and demanding.

One facet of multi-faceted progressive resistance - no one of which will hit all bases.

Doing something “pragmatic”, wherever he is.

At this point, it is more about absolute need. Idealism died as we did nothing for decades as the ecological crisis grew. There were more options available to us in the past, when things weren’t so dire. Now, it is about absolute necessity. Anyone that wants to hold on to capitalism as we know it and at the same time deal with the ecological crisis is deluded. It is one or the other.

That is why when they go there they never want to leave. It is more about them than the country. They are at the center and want to hog the power indefinitely and well behind their time to go. We need a country where more and more people get a chance to participate in our government but when the hogs and their offspring entrench - most of us are left out.

Yes, definitely not looking out for the long term of our country or the world. No need for an intellect when you operate like most of these entrenched “leaders.”
