Stop Brett Kavanaugh — A Corporation Masquerading as a Judge

Ralph Nader

Observers say that confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to become President Trump’s second pick for a lifetime job on the Supreme Court will make the Court more conservative. It is more accurate to say Kavanaugh will make the Court more corporatist.

With Kavanaugh, it is all about siding with corporations over workers, consumers, patients, motorists, the poor, minority voters, and beleaguered communities.

Ralph Nader speaks for the millions who are voiceless with his always honest, truthful, moral vision, and we should expect his honesty and representation for the "common man and woman from ALL elected officials - expectations that go begging…The so-called “opposition party” is not, their “leadership” are, by and large, complicit to the same dedication to the exploitation, usury, profits over people, and greed-driven model as the twin now in (frightening) power…

Nader leads where DINO Dems will not.go - "Repeatedly Kavanaugh’s judicial opinions put corporate interests ahead of the common good—backing the powerful against the weak, the vulnerable, and the defenseless."

Kavanaugh’s mindset and who he represents is a product of our education that has come to teach “jobs” rather than humanity, history, the arts and sociology…it is a mirror image of the corporatist soft-coup over our society based on money and profits and greed, over all aspects of a moral society dedicated to the Common Good and a sustainable, healthy, environmentally protective society. Kavanaugh is a nominee chosen by a person of zero moral compass, and destructive mental illness, and that tells why he was chosen. Kavanaugh is the Manchurian Candidate that will serve his entire life to tell millions what they may do, who they are and can be, what the power of greed can “legally” do, and so much else that should never be given to one person, especially one so extreme in their views of life!

The Complicity of both political party “leaders” is also dedicated to this artificial construct of life on earth, that values money, power and violence over the things that make any society “great” - real not-for-profit education for all, not-for-profit health care for all, a real “safety net” for those in dire straits, dedication to environmental protections from toxic corporate “products”, protection for water, air, soil, and all the other creatures we share this earth with that are connected to human survival.

All those things are threatened by a person inculcated - brainwashed - into the corporate vulture capitalist, exploitation over sustainability construct of greed, that is destroying the earth, dividing our people’s and nations, exploiting and polluting our one and only earth and its natural resources beyond its ability to survive…The threat from the mindset Kavanaugh represents is beyond dangerous - it is an existential threat.

Make America CARE again!

addendum - links to the studies Nader references

" Kavanaugh has repeatedly ruled against efforts to combat climate change and the regulation of greenhouse gases. He also repeatedly ruled against protections for clean air. He has repeatedly sided with the wealthy and the powerful over all Americans. He has fought consumer protections in the areas of automobile safety, financial services, and a free and open internet. Kavanaugh has also repeatedly ruled against workers, workplace protections and safety regulations.

Kavanaugh ruled "7 times for police or human rights abuses versus zero rulings for the victims. But he rules against government agencies when they are protecting the interests of the people over those of corporations. - Even more extreme, he does not like human beings to sue corporations or sue the government. But if you are a corporation, the courthouse doors are always open."

Do you want him to be on the Supreme Court?" For the next 50 years!? As Nader writes, "Kavanaugh is a corporate supremacist to a fanatic level of protecting corporate cruelty and greed. Giving him an unaccountable lifetime position on the Court will weaken our democracy and empower the corporate state."

https://www.citizen.org/media/press-releases/us-court-appeals-kavanaugh-sided-corporations-87-percent-time-split-decisions

The bottom line is if this Trojan corporate-whore is confirmed it will radically alter our republic, make the Constitution and Bill of Rights obsolete, entrench the corporate fascist state, essentially forever…including Republican’s with any shred of common sense…unless he is defeated

Given the craven complicity and sabotage of any true opposition candidates by the DINO establishment, the possibility of a true progressive president and congress - both houses - to add several justices to the court, like FDR threatened, to dilute Kavanaugh’s threat may be a pipe dream…

The Republicans I knew growing up would never embrace the fascism exhibited by “their” party now. Orwellian sloganeering along with dog-whistle issues have brought easily duped masses to vote R while simultaneously making others wretch at all politics and abstaining from their OBLIGATION to vote. Goebbels would be jealous, indeed.

Ralph Nader is a true “American hero”. I’ve followed Nader ever since the Corvair fiasco and his testimony before Congress.

#6

It was Nader’s “testimony before Congress” addressing auto safety that triggered the corporations (and the politicians and media they own) spending tens of millions during the subsequent decade turning Nader into a pariah, thereby solidifying his credibility as one of the few populist POTUS candidates.

“Corporate supremacist” is indeed the most precise characterization of Kavanaugh that I have heard.

That characterization also fits nearly all GOP operatives at local, state and federal levels, and many Democrats.

#7

Nader should have been our president a long time ago. The 2 party system would not allow him into the debates in 2000 because he would have exposed so much that is wrong w this country.

#8

Wasn’t POTUS candidate Jill Stein arrested just for showing up to watch a duopoly debate ?

#9

She was arrested for trying to get into the debate at hofstra university

#10

I backed Nader in 2000 but sorry to hear that according to the DINO Dems. people like me cost Gore the election for POTUS!

#11

People who vote 3rd party vote their conscience. The lesser of 2 evils is garbage. In the 60s i am old enough to remember you had LBJ versus Goldwater in 1964 for president of the U.S. Goldwater a republican people were afraid was going to use atomic bombs on vietnam. LBJ a dem campaigned on peace and when elected expanded the Vietnam war to 500,000 troops. Anyway, the power structure decides who they want to run the show for president. Power structure would have preferred Hillary as president but they will work w Trump.

As usual, Ralph hits us square in the face with truths all too many wish to ignore.

He shows clearly what his objections to Kavanaugh are and why.

— On another level, it is preposterous that a number of Democrats who have not taken a clear stand on this and many other Trumpish issues, helped lead the charge back in 2000 against the extraordinary citizen that Ralph has proven himself to be, claiming that his presence on the ballot “stole” the 2000 election … yet in nearly 20 years, have not lifted one finger to change the laws to institute rank-choice voting which would eliminate such a scenario in the future.

These critics do not want to solve what they call a problem, they only want to rule by silencing opposition voices. They did then, and they do now.

We neither need nor want those folks wielding power in an apparent “democracy.”

Thanks for your reply. Yes, like I have said many times…presidents are selected…not elected. In my opinion, the only exception may have been JFK, who was also selected but turned on his selectors.

Democrats and Republicans represent the 1%, as usual. This is an interesting video of a recent Caitlin Johnstone column about how the modern day version of kings is in place:

My headline: STOP THE AMERICAN CORPORTOCRACY MASQUERADING AS THE US GOVERNMENT.

Isn’t it painfully obvious by now that the U.S.A.'s so-called “democracy” and “representative republic” urgently and desperately need to test and screen out all officials (at least those who have the heightened potential for abusing power) for mental illnesses like anti-social personality disorder (that is, sociopathy and psychopathy), malignant narcissism (egomania and megalomania), sadistic personality disorder – and all similar, destructive mental illnesses?

Candidates for all official positions, from President to local police officers, from Supreme Court Justices to Senators and Congresspersons, from CIA and NSA Directors to drone operators and foot soldiers (and so on) should not be trusted with legal or lethal power if they are dangerously, viciously mentally ill.

Isn’t this proposal just common sense?

Do we, the common people, ever want an unstable, impulsive, severely angry, madman to be President, who is in control of firing nuclear weapons and starting wars?

Do we, the common people, ever want sadists and racists as police officers or soldiers, who are eager to kill innocent “others”?

Do we, the common people, ever want Supreme Court Justices, Senators, and Congresspersons who sadistically favor the rich and powerful over the poor and weak (at home and worldwide)?

Who sadistically steal from the poor and middle-class to further enrich the already obscenely rich 1% and giant corporations?

Who sadistically enjoy (or don’t care about) causing death, destruction, and suffering to millions and billions of common people, other species, and Earth’s ecology that supports all life?

Can you think of any current or past government (and corporate) officials who should be tested immediately – and who most likely would not pass tests that screen out dangerous and harmful mental illnesses?

I definitely can think of many officials whose words and actions are highly suspicious of exhibiting harmful mental illness.

Same with Jerry Brown

Not only was Presidential candidate Jill Stein wrongfully excluded from the presidential debates – and wrongfully arrested – I read that Jill was handcuffed to a chair (!) in another room for the duration of the so-called “debate” – and then she was released without charges (because she had not committed any crime) only after the “duopoly debate” sham & scam was over.

Great Article and , great responses , and everybody got a heart! : )

Thank you! Excellent point!

These harmful liars & frauds also have not properly replaced numerous old, hackable, and paperless (unverifiable) voting machines in the eighteen years since the 2000 election. This fact strongly indicates that they are not sincere or serious about establishing and safeguarding honest elections that truly “represent” the political will and wishes of the U.S. common people majority.
