Stop Funding Politicians Delaying Bold Climate Action Among Demands 1,100 Google Workers Just Sent to Top Exec
Good on you the 1,100 !!
Just in from The Guardian:
"The statement is published in the journal BioScience on the 40th anniversary of the first world climate conference, which was held in Geneva in 1979. The statement was a collaboration of dozens of scientists and endorsed by further 11,000 from 153 nations. The scientists say the urgent changes needed include ending population growth, leaving fossil fuels in the ground, halting forest destruction and slashing meat eating."
As I see it, if we are to prosper, rather than just survive, we are going to have to empower a scientific special committee, perhaps one in every country, perhaps one at the United Nations, to direct operations that adversely affect The Earth System.
In the States, The National Academy of the Sciences could take this role immediately, in some form or another - a pilot project.
Next - a full integration of environmental humanities into these committees - say first a “Rights for the Environment” legal group.
Let your imagination add to this !
As stated in a previous thread, the government needs to take over energy production, sales, legislation, regulation, mitigating pollution, and invention.
