Tea Party Tanks: Latest Poll Shows New Low for Faux Grassroots Movement

Jon Queally, staff writer

National public support for the far-right Tea Party movement has plunged to historic lows, according to new polling released by Gallup on Monday.

The survey shows that only 17 percent of Americans now actively support the Tea Party, while a majority (54 percent) neither oppose or support the faction which has aimed to drag the Republican Party further to the right in recent years.

Oh no! Now Congress will have to protect billionaires all on their own! How will they bear the awesome burden of this responsibility?

Matt Taibbi, you are a treasure! "A loose definition of the Tea Party might be millions of pissed-off white people sent chasing after Mexicans on Medicaid by the handful of banks and investment firms who advertise on Fox and CNBC." lol lol!!! Wish you could have figured a way to stay on with "The Intercept" folks.

We The People need more like you, The Intercept and "CD"- all free thinking people, who can maintain a cohesive, strong Left Echo Chamber. Let's take The Fight to the over-paid, 1,000's of Conservative right-wing commentators, hosts and guests that swamp mass media corporate outlets.

Let's bring parity and many common sense counter-punches back at these revolting "Strict Father Morality" ideologues. (The previous singular quote is thanks to Professor George Lakoff, UC Berkeley Cognitive & Linguistics Studies, referring to Conservatives.)

That is too bad! The Tea Party is needed to keep the GOP in disarray.

Read Elizabeth Warren's "A Fighting Chance" and then support Bernie Sanders. Also say three cheers for Mark Baum and his IMPRIMIS company for side swiping Shkeli's greedy attempt of putting millions of cancer and HIV sufferers in mortal danger.
Most important of all, if you want to make a difference, google: "How and when to vote for Bernie Sanders (by state)"
(As a new poster here I am not allowed to provide any URLs yet, sorry) and see, what you have to do in your state to help set the nation back on a straight track.

If you are left out, you cannot help Bernie! Think about that.

While the tea party "brand" may be tarnished and fading, the sentiment that exists in those that were drawn to it has not changed. Like so many small "victories" heralded on these pages, this apparent progression means nothing. The TP will return, under a different name and probably the next iteration will be even more virulent. There is no indication here that there is a shift towards progressivism, just a disenchantment that the TP didn't do enough to monkey-wrench the "libtard and socialist government."

If anyone here thinks the rich fucks who financed this movement are going to give up that easily, then you're not paying attention.

Media Education Foundation has a DVD film by Taki Oldham titled "The Billionaires' Tea Party--How Corporate America Is Faking A Grassroots Revolution". It offers a terrifying look at how corporate elites are exploiting the anxieties of ordinary Americans--capitalizing on anger, resentment, and paranoia to advance a narrow, often anti-democratic agenda.

As Lakoff would say, "Don't think of an elephant"

And for God's sake, Don't Think of an Elephant with a machine gun on its back guarding an EMPIRE:

But do think of real patriotic Tea Partiers disguised as Indians confronting the obvious British EMPIRE with 'harbor theater' in Boston:

And don't confuse that Revolutionary reality with working poor, uninformed, modern, and racist Tea Partiers deluded by corporate media/propaganda into attacking their own government by a disguised Global Empire of 1% elitist rich pricks:
