'The American People Should Be Pissed Off': Critics Say Trump Tax Dodging Exposes System Rotten to the Core

Unless you have a solution then voting is the only solution. Or, are you just going to stay home and give Trump another 4 years all the while you will be whining.

Waiting for repo men to take down all the “T”'s from Trump’s Towers and other endeavors like his golf courses. Then…Trump Tower in New York City has no sprinkler system…
Let’s not forget Jared in all this mess. His 666 5th Avenue building is so deeply underwater it’s in the Marianas Trench. He’s been peddling it to every rich despot on the planet, including the House of Saud. No takers yet. His daddy went to jail; likely Jared will too at some point.
Moral to this sad tale of grift and graft-if a person is involved in real estate, count your fingers afterwards if you shake hands with them. The US of Abuse was founded in land speculation and fraud. Andy Jackson made his filthy lucre in land speculation and moved on up to genocide and slavery before being elected President.
I’m sure every president, including Obama, has some skeletons rattling in their closets and dodgy cv’s.

Right on target!! My wealthy relatives who love Trump all hate the IRS, one even became an Evangelical pastor to avoid paying taxes! Leona Helmsly was 100% correct when she said: " ONLY LITTLE PEOPLE ( that means suckers!) PAY TAXES".

Not America, but the Disguised Global Crony Capitalist Empire, which is only nominally HQed in, and merely ‘posing’ as our formerly “promising” and sometimes progressive country (PKA) America, is actually just a one-way ‘negative externality cost’ dumping and pumping scam, which employs the tried and proven “Accumulation by dispossession” looting of the ‘little people’ and egregious theft by the; ‘Ruling-Elite’, UHNWIs, < 0.003%ers, self-appointed "Masters of the Universe:, and “Evil Geniuses” [Kurt Andersen 2020] until all the wealth in the world is compressed into the ultimate ‘Golden Prize’ of one of these pricks having reached the GINI Coefficient of Wealth Inequality of 1.0 — which means that one single effer, like Jeff, or Mark, or God knows who has accumulated it ALL — along with looting it, monopolizing it, hoarding it, and taking all of it out of any productive use!

Yes, voting on a corrupt, fraudulent and hackable system ought to do it! Or are you one who lives in denial of that? There are other solutions, but most are not going to engage in that because it would disturb their comfort level and their sports/tv time. As I see it, the thug in the white house will have another 4 years or more regardless of how people vote. He’s not going anywhere until he dies in office. If you’ve not noticed, he does nothing legally and with few, any if, consequences. And with Barrett on the Supreme Court, he will have as many terms as he wants…while you going on about voting. We’re waaaaay past that in case you’ve not noticed. And nothing sticks to him. This tax evasion topic will be gone by tomorrow.

There are a few people on here who “get it” and then there’s the majority who are really just pro-establishment, status quo Dems who pretend to be progressive and or liberals, while voting for a right-wing, pro-war, corporatist, imperialistic party which enables and serves as accomplices to the Republican Party most of the time.

An excellent and pertinent observation.

Remember, that goes all the way down to parking tickets. If some poor slob doesn’t have another quarter to plug the meter (yes, I know I’m dating myself, remembering that I was once in that situation), s/he gets a ticket for $250 that s/he also cannot pay, so may get pinched with no way to make bail and so will loose a month;s income and STILL get slapped with an even bigger fine. I made it out, but this still happens in the Land of the Freebooters and the home of their graves.

There are no loopholes in the system. It is the system! Both parties created it and if you think it is going to change in any significant way, you are sadly mistaken. Ever wonder why there are so many millionaires in Congress?

I think it will change some, but only for undecided independent voters, nothing will change his cult followers, they have some sort of mental illness. I don’t say this jokingly, I have a few in my family, they can’t intelligently explain it, and I can’t figure it out.
The IRS has been neutered by congress. Last year the agency audited more people in my state, the poorest in the country, according to their agency head.
These laws obviously need to be changed, but without reinstating the IRS’s funding, the laws will be meaningless.

DT’s tax revelations should bring widespread condemnation not just of HIM but the entire corrupt system - a critical opportunity. If people allow these revelations to focus strictly on Trump and totally politicize the issue, they’re missing a grand opportunity.

The system ALLOWS people like Donald Trump to take advantage, the laws and technicalities and legal loopholes are DESIGNED by the ultra wealthy and corporate world. Those who are doing the ripping off include Republicans, Democrats and others that think the entire political system is just a joke for them to manipulate. We ALL are getting ripped off, the 99 plus percent, which includes Democrats, Republicans, Socialists, Anarchists, people who vote, people who don’t vote, people who think there are serious conspiracies at work and people who make fun of anyone who dares utter the word conspiracy.

If one were to take an unbiased poll (and such polls have been taken), asking people if they thought the economic system was rigged in favor of the wealthy, you’d find overwhelming agreement. This proved true in 2011 during the Occupy Wall Street movement, when various national polls showed 80 percent support for OWS cutting across the board. People were sick of the corruption of the big banks, Wall Street, and in Washington, D.C.

These are NOT partisan issues. And they loom large today. It isn’t just about Trump, as bad as this guy is (and yeah, I never liked him from the first time I ever heard of him). It is about a badly corrupted and rigged system that isn’t blue or red, or which doesn’t respond to "just voting,’ no matter how passionate one feels about the voting booth, this year or ever.

The king of “Hypocrisy and Betrayal” has assembled his 35 to 40 percent of the population who have only one thing in common, their racist hatred.

Their bond of brotherhood in bringing back a time of White Supremacy is nearing completion, yet, those who have sat out elections for decades have been awaken to the nearing return to a time of Southern Inhospitable Hatred, and they’re pissed off.

Beware GOP, and Trump, “Fuck You Too.”

Indeed, however, it’s still unethical and an abuse of power.

President or no, Trump is still rich and the only thing rich people in America go to jail for is not letting the rest of the mafiastocracy “whet their beaks a little”.
He has been very careful to spread the loot around to the rest of them.
In the handful of instances where a rich person was actually convicted of something it is off to countryclub jail or “house arrest”. Both of which are far better options than the daily lives of the 99%.

American public – the non-billionaires and no-millionaires – are frightened
and intimidated by the IRS –

and while millionaires and billionaires are barely challenged at all –

it is the POOR who tax returns are more frequently audited –

Excellent observation concerning America’s dismal political scene.

That is the least of the rottenness of the American so called democracy but there is one critical path to reform the system. America must stop allowing vested interests to finance the election campaigns of politicians. And at the same time, it must be illegal for any politician who leaves office to work for companies who lobby the government. Who Pays the Piper Calls the Tune.

Angry at Trump? For many Americans, his actions make him a quintessentially American hero. The fundamental ethos of the USA is Grab what you can and to hell with anyone else, so he’s only acting according to what made the country what it is today. Trump supporters couldn’t care less about free tuition in colleges, as they’d never go if you paid them to do so. Hunger, clean water, homelessness - they’re the fault of those suffering from them. These tax revelations will do little or nothing to erode Trump’s re-election chances.
