Throwing buckets of money at a problem that is inherently immoral, and hateful, will never produce a solution of compassionate commitment to a world of peaceful nations.
Only waste and more hate.
At the expense of the American people’s futures.
The “love our troops” strategy was contrived three decades ago to take the spotlight off of the military industrial complex that was rapidly morphing into the military industrial media infotainment complex (MIMIC) during the Gulf War.
Anybody who continues to “love our troops” needs to be reminded of the Viet Nam era mantra WHAT IF THEY HAD A WAR AND NOBODY SHOWED UP ?, and needs to replay Buffy Saint Marie’s UNIVERSAL SOLDIER song.
Good work to document the corruption of the military-
industrial complex, but weak to forget the “hero” Julian
Assange and WikiLeaks for exposing the big Lie.
I’m reading Viet Thanh Ngyyen’s “Nothing Ever Dies” about the MIMIC right now, it’s very enlightening. His excellent “The Sympathizer” also touches on these themes.
The insanity of the society we grew up in. How did we ever manage to escape the HIVE mentality that surrounds us enough to even comment on this site?
Indeed. After Vietnam the Pentagon and MIC decided that they would never allow an anti-war movement to get off the ground or have any influence again. 10’s of millions was invested in a massive propaganda campaign so as to brainwash the public with the “support the troops” mantra.
Everytime a US Citizen attends to sporting event and stand to “Support our troops” as men and women in uniform march across the field or there a flyover of Jet aircraft , they are demonstrating how they have been brainwashed.
