The American Association for the Advancement of Science came as close as such a respectable institution can to screaming an alarm last week. "As scientists, it is not our role to tell people what they should do," it said as it began one of those sentences that you know will build to a "but". "But human-caused climate risks abrupt, unpredictable and potentially irreversible changes."
Excellent article.... I just wish the idiots out there with their head in the sand would wake up.
How much money do they need? They should have plenty stored away from the profits they have made so far. Money won't save them or their descendants.
There is no backup plan. We haven't found another habitable planet that we can reach in a reasonable amount of time.
By the way....I recently read about a Generation Ship. Excellent book... read it.
I've also been listening to the book about Neil Armstrong's life and his Apollo 11 moon mission. One part of the story talked about the Apollo 8 mission... specifically a reference to Earth (when viewed against the void) as a fragile ship. Made me think of Global Warming and the book above.
