The people of Libya and Tunisia both overthrew long-standing dictatorships in popular uprisings in 2011. Four years later, however, the current political situation in these two neighboring North African states could not be more different. The reason has much to do with how their authoritarian regimes were overthrown.

ya gotta be careful about criticizing Zunes on this site. Not worth the consequences, sadly.

that said, it’s an interesting contradiction to say the the “long standing dictatorship was overthrown by the people” and only two paragraphs late,r concede that it was western military intervention that obtained that result.

Not saying anymore on a Zunes piece…:slight_smile: Not safe.
