The Daily Show's Jon Stewart Announces Departure

Jon Queally, staff writer

The Daily Show's Jon Stewart, lead anchor and the driving force of the influential Comedy Central "fake news" program each weeknight, announced Tuesday he will soon resign from the show he's hosted for more than a decade and a half.

Stewart made the announcement towards the end of Tuesday's episode, saying, "The show doesn't deserve an even slightly restless host and neither do you."

I hear Brian Williams might be looking for work. What better place for him to slide into than a "fake news" show?

#3

I'm going to miss him, but I'll miss Colbert more. I think he realized that he was losing audience that watched him as a good prelude to Colbert.

#4

Clever, but obvious. Better - Jon Stewart takes over Brian Williams slot as a nightly news anchor.

#5

I don't think Stewart could do it with a straight face.
That might be a good thing….
Sure would stoke NBC's ratings.

I thought of this earlier today too. In my scenario, Brian and Jon switch jobs!
