When Arne Duncan, the U.S. Secretary of Education under President Barack Obama, said Hurricane Katrina was the “best thing that happened to the education system in New Orleans,” he was no doubt referring in part to how the storm and its aftermath led to the spread of charter schools across the city.
While I voted against Obama’s opponents twice using him as the mechanism, I never really voted for him. Duncan and his ilk was largely the rea$on. Slick and smooth as he was, Obama was just a little too much so on both count$ for me. Bernie 2020!
Here in Florida, former Governor Jeb Bush is praising the current Governor DeSantis’ efforts to further privatize the educational system. After all how much math does one really need to know to parade around in a Mickey Mouse costume?
A good antidote to the agitprop piece by Jonathan Chait cited elsewhere on CD.
