Added to this list George Bush to a single mother of three struggling to make ends meet.

“You work three jobs? Uniquely American, isn’t it? I mean, that is fantastic that you’re doing that."

“Perseverance Porn.”

Gotta promote that mythical meritocracy, yo.
Because you know who’s to blame for your lot in life? You are.

Grit and predetermination

The government comportment is that of failed state. The failed state is that of media. The failed media in debt servitude to the beneficiaries a failed cum successful economic theory, touted as only option and the demonization of ANYTHING not failed… except lies. And the $#it from the centuries of lies is knee-deep on the fan. But nobody notices because its not flying through the air and thats because it done broke the fan a long long time ago!

yup, theres a pattern there.

I have loved, embraced, and passed on to friends the very accurate and descriptive phrase, “perseverance porn.” And agree: the corporate MSM remains oblivious to its own complicity in these grotesque “news events.” The socio-economic structure-- sick, bloated capitalism–that imposes, nay coerces, these “heroic” acts from individuals dragged to their economic breaking point deserves not only to be re-examined and dissected but dismantled for good and never allowed to besmirch the face of the Earth (or the souls of men) ever again.
But such a critical and transcendental intellectual revolution would require serious re-evaluation and committed public discourse, one dedicated to the common good, one dedicated to neutralizing this dangerous socio-economic myth. As it stands, the MSM as an integral cog of the odious machine will continue to serve its corporate masters, its profiteering shareholders, to promote an archaic, parasitic ideology and not the well-being of the viewing/listening/reading public at large, who exist but to fatten the profit machine. This has been the great tragedy of western civilization these past three centuries, that it has subordinated itself to a parasitic, wasteful ideology. Those who rebel against this insidiously-defended worldview suffer exile, criminalization, torture, libel, invasion, war and death. Not exactly actions that bolster its ultimate credibility or desirability. But indoctrination and propaganda promoting this view has carried the day; as a philosopher once noted: “only the hunters tell their tales; no one speaks for the rabbits…”
Perhaps this may be the internet’s true legacy, that it allowed for alternate voices, those of the scattered “rabbits” to make contact amongst themselves, to rally for unification for their collective voices to tell the hunters: you may have the guns, and the loudspeakers, but we still have the numbers. Our histories have been given a voice. We think for ourselves and we vote, too.
My hat’s off to Larken Rose, to Noam Chomsky, to Howard Zinn, to Michael and Christian Parenti, et al, giants who have shown us the way.
Be well.

So this is by design right … since ronny raygun the whole political establishment (i’m looking at you DEMOCRATS) have embraced rugged individualism even though as seen with the latest college admissions scandal, that the economic system is rigged in favor of the corporate and wealthy elites.

Be sure to report all lemonade sales on your tax return and file a form 8962 or you will be prosecuted for fraudulently taking extra Advance Premium Tax Credit.

True, Trump stopped paying insurance subsidies a long time ago, but he still needs his cut of your lemonade sales to offset his huge tax cut for billionaires.

Let’s not forget the news coverage of mining disasters. 100% focused on continued prayers for the miners’ lives and celebrating any miraculous survivals.

Zero percent focused on the crimes of the bosses, the lack of prosecution or reform, or the bribes paid to legislators.
