The Long March Against Monsanto: A Letter from The Hague

The Long March Against Monsanto: A Letter from The Hague

Ronnie Cummins

We are today in the midst of a battleground for two very different approaches to agriculture. One is the agro-ecological approach based on the use of open source traditional seeds based on biodiversity and living in harmony with nature. The other is the mechanistic world of an industrial system based on monocultures, one-way extraction and the use of pesticides, poisons and GMOs, where chemical cartels compete to take over our agriculture and food systems, destroying our ecosystems along the way.” - Brochure for The People’s Assembly, The Hague, Oct.

If persons were limited in the amount of corporate shares they could own, would the great increase in small shareholders and better wealth distribution that results be a democratizing influence?

Would the small shareholding public be less inclined to vote for destroying their habitat than the oligarchs in their castles?

The first dots that need to be connected are 1) Obama's TPP, TTIP, TISA and other regulatory capture disguised as "trade deals" that will further enhance Monsanto's fortunes, 2) the record number of mergers that the Obama Regime has enabled., and 3) the too-big-to-fail banks that controlled 25% of US bank assets when they crashed the economy in 2008 and now control nearly 50% courtesy of the Dubya and Obama Regimes.
