'The Next Crisis': Up to 43 Million Americans Could Lose Health Insurance Due to Pandemic, Study Shows

Only 43 million? Irony is, many of those could have voted for Bernie, but no we want Uncle Dementia to lead us through this. Guess you get want you vote for.

HOw long before Nancy and Chuck bailout the Insurance companies and kill MFA?
Hell, she’s already to bail out the phucking parasitic Lobbyists

Employers have been cutting back on healthcare as a benefit for years. Only about 60% of employers even offer it as a benefit any more, and many that do only pick up about half the cost of their group policy and won’t pay for dependents any longer. This pandemic has given many employers the cover to cut even more from their benefit offers (many corporations have already cut any 401k contributions and some are even eliminating their 401k plans altogether)
The US workforce was already being changed by the rapidly growing temp or gig sector. A sector that provides no benefits, erratic hours and dubious working conditions. This pandemic will only exacerbate and accelerate that growth.
We will all be 1099 workers very soon.

Watch Trump outflank the Democrats on this one.

BUt this gives me a chance to drop this once again - sorry folks

Ask yourself - “Do I want to pay for insurance, or do I want to pay for Healthcare?”

  • Private Health insurance Companies do not provide healthcare - They only pay the bills . For this ‘service’, they skim 20% +/- off the top for themselves, leaving less of your money for your care. Overhead for Medicare is 2% or less.

  • Private Insurance companies have no incentive to keep prices down in fact the more healthcare costs go up, the more money THEY make.

  • Private-based insurance companies make their money by DENYING Healthcare NOT by PROVIDING healthcare.

  • For Profit insurance means Less healthcare = more profit. How will that motive affect their decisions for you and your family?

  • Private-based insurance still leaves you with Corporate Death Panels . Their requirement for profit sits between you and your doctor and dictates what care is available to you, or not.

  • Private-based insurance still includes co-pays, deductibles, limits, MEDICAL BANKRUPTCY, and for most, ties you to your employer. If you lose your job, you probably lose your healthcare care.

Isn’t this a No-Brainer?

Ask yourself - “Do I want insurance, or do I want Healthcare?”

Americans don’t give a shit about one another. Reptilicans have no problem with 100,000 deaths and counting from the pandemic while Dims are perfectly satisfied with 60K deaths yearly from lack of insurance or under insurance.

We hate humanity. Must be a Christian thing.

It all boils down to this: no matter if in good times, or during a pandemic, without health care for everyone, we are sooner or later gonna suffer.
In this country, in this day and age, it’s way beyond “shameful”, or even criminal, for anyone to not have healthcare

Exactly what I was thinking. Status Quo Dementia Joe to the rescue :joy:.

Americans don’t want medicare for all, they have never voted for any candidate who wanted this.

True, and why do you think the DNC is soooo terrified of Bernie, they know that too!

They will. tRump has no ideology. He’ll promise it, win the election and then complete the coup.

Make that a Christian- Fascist thing. The Bible Trumpers wrap themselves in the flag; carry the cross; and we know most of the evangelicals will vote for Trump ( a man that has no morals) in November and If that is not the epitome of hypocrisy! Then I do not know what is!

As soon as they collect the lobbyists bribes?

How long will it be before progressives get a clue???

Bernie would have made a fine president but
a.) Pelosi and crew made sure that people got the message that the DNC does not want socialism…it would cut into their bribe money from the big health care insurance companies.
b.) the media ignored him.
c.) most people are far stupider than I thought.

Big money for big elites first. That will trickle down to the rest of us.
Wait for it, wait for it.
Oh, never mind.

We should all be passing your message on to the masses. Thankfully the choir at CD pretty well know the story of insurance companies with the huge glass wall buildings and back 40 golf courses.
I wish I knew how long we are willing to continue to be taken to the cleaners on healthcare. I say willing because I see no pitchforks.

Here is my plan … I’ll wait until November to see which candidate (Repub or Dem) has the most sexual assault complaints. At this point it seems Biden leads the race in actual rapes. Comes down to whether it was one or two fingers. Then I will vote for for a third party as I have for the last three terms. Progressives vote for progressive candidates … someday, the neo-liberal democrats might figure that out but not likely.

Anybody seen any voting/voter reforms pass out of congress. The rest is just cheap whiskey.
