Pretty sure every year they plead for this and every year world leaders ignore that plea.

Anyone here at Common Dreams that has listened to Minitrue tell his experiences with early nuclear testing knows the horror of it’s potential.

For us to not learn from those experiences is a crime.

Minitrue, please share them again as I missed them. I worked for four years with the Dept. of Energy and know too well about the nuker-kooker mentality.

Give credit where credit is due. The FIRST nuclear test ban treaty was signed by DEMOCRAT John F. Kennedy, who also refused to allow the Air Force to carpet bomb Cuba, during Eisenhower/Nixon’s Bay of Pigs fiasco. (The BofPs was operational CIA developed under the Republican administration. Kennedy inherited it, just as he did the Vietnam War.)

“On August 5, 1963, representatives of the United States, Soviet Union and Great Britain signed the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, which prohibited the testing of nuclear weapons in outer space, underwater or in the atmosphere. The treaty, which President John F. Kennedy signed less than three months before his assassination, was hailed as an important first step toward the control of nuclear weapons.”
