The Trump Administration Is Recklessly Escalating Tensions With Iran

Phyllis Bennis

he Trump administration is continuing to make reckless threats against Iran. On Wednesday, in response to recent missile tests, National Security Adviser Michael Flynn announced that the White House was “officially putting Iran on notice,” and refused to say whether military force is under consideration.

Unfortunately, none of the truths or sanity Phyllis Bennis lays-out have any meaning for the trump regime - their ignorance is unassailable......don't confuse them with the facts, their minds (or whats left of them) are already made-up........................the destructive, and very dangerous pattern of this regime should cause every thinking person to act before it's too late!

Iran has every right to behave as other significant nations do. Including, and perhaps especially, given the decades long drumbeat of American threats, defend itself.

Iran is the last country on the list of those proposed for regime change under the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) which was initiated by W and furthered by Obama. Trump appears to be just another neocon and is adhering to their gameplan. I expect the Trump regime in cahoots with Israel to initiated war on Iran soon.

Ever since Eisenhower's first POTUS action 64 years ago was his approving the first CIA orchestrated overthrow of a democratically elected government (Iran), every US petrochemical company and every US politician owned by that industry has pushed to get Iran's oil. Note that predecessor Truman's final act as POTUS was telling the CIA where to shove it when they requested his approval to overthrow the Iran government.

With all things oil, Trump and Tillerson are a match made in petrochemical heaven.

Yes, but Hillary would have been much worse...
