The Trump Doctrine: Making Nuclear Weapons Usable Again

Michael Klare

That President Trump would be all-in on making the American nuclear arsenal more usable should come as no surprise, given his obvious infatuation with displays of overwhelming military strength

MAGA (Make America Glow Again)

Why not high speed rail, etc. FFS?

It’s bad enough that Obama approved over $1 Trillion to modernize our aging Nuclear Arsenal when that money could have served so many more, so much better, now, we have a Moron for a President that struts like a Peacock, boasting for all the World to hear that, he thinks it’s 1945 again and the United States of America can drop a couple Nuclear Bombs, and make the planet a better place to live in.

If this isn’t the definition of insanity, it should be.

Just what we need, more nuclear options for the itchy fingered megalomaniac currently occupying the white house.

Putting aside the question of “modernization” being a good idea (it’s not), it could theoretically be paid for with money to spare by repatriating—and taxing at the prevailing rate—the trillion-plus dollars that US-based corporations have squirreled away in offshore tax havens.

" The possible use of nuclear weapons is about to be normalized."

Maybe one way to stop this nuclear normalization by Trump, is to make him realize that if America normalizes the use of nuclear weapons so could Russia and China, and attack the US with a nuclear strike. No, wrong! Trump is so insane, that would not work.

Important point PB: The modernization effort that began with Obama can offer additional Armageddon capacities to the Insane Idiot Trump - or whatever crazies are sure to follow. Dave Lindorff has written an excellent pie (on CounterPunch) arguing that nor President - or any other individual should be able to order using nuclear weapons.

To call this idiocy “The Trump Doctrine” is utterly counterproductive and fake news. This issue, like many important issues is systemic and should be presented as that – or not at all.

And here I thought it was his predilection for slapping his tacky brand on everything in sight.
