In the federal trial underway in Winston-Salem, North Carolina challenging the state's restrictive 2013 voting law, one much-discussed provision is not under consideration: the voter ID requirement.
Just how many voters are going to understand 'reasonable impediment?' And, after an election who is going to review these impediments and exactly how long is this going to take? This is just one more way to place a stumbling block in front of many voters. Why not just disenfranchise all non registered Republican voters and be done with it. That would be the quickest way for the GOP to continue to be the party of a non-governing agenda.
