Trump Administration Urged to Investigate Wave of Attacks as Hate Crimes

Lauren McCauley, staff writer

Responding to a recent wave of violence and threats against minority communities, more than two dozen senators on Thursday urged the Trump administration to take a stand and reaffirm the federal government's role in prosecuting hate crimes.

Addressed to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the letter highlights the "alarming increase in bias-motivated violence" and notes that "many members of racial, ethnic and religious minority communities, as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, live in very real fear for their safety."

What? Investigate...? and put off the core of his support: ignorant, White Supremacist, White Nationalist, Anti-Semites, Homophobes, Misogynists who call themselves good KKKristians? Words to placate may be spoken but not in earnest nor with any strength or purpose (disavow hate crimes of any stripe)...just to make the emperor appear sympathetic/concerned. Suggestions/urgings for anything NOT emanating from the emperor and/or his inner circle will be summarily ignored and they will dig in their heels even deeper in defiance. That is his/their MO and it ain't gonna change.

Trump knows that the investigation will confirm that the perpetrators are his supporters and that might reflect badly on him.

Trump rules by edict. Unless he initiates an edict, no investigation is forthcoming.
