Trump Is Our One-Man National Emergency

Michael Winship

The fact that his predecessor was a smart, witty and popular black man makes Donald Trump crazy. Especially the black part.

Remember the stories about his alleged fury in 2011 when Barack Obama so effectively zinged Trump as he sat fuming from his table at the White House Correspondents Association dinner? Supposedly it was that humiliation at the hands of a black president that convinced Trump to seek the presidency and, God help us, get the last laugh.

While Michael Woship’s column was intended as a withering (and well deserved) attack on Donald Trump, it is in realty an attack on the US political parties and their control by organized money. So since neither the Republicans nor the Democrats have no serious ideas that respond to the real needs of the electorate, they must resort to lifestyle presidential candidates.

Whether it was “no drama Obama”, or petulant and mercurial Trump, or folksy G W Bush, or which ever woman replaces “its my turn” Hillary as the first woman candidate to make a winning run for president, whoever wins will just keep kicking the can down the road and giving all the billionaires who are their patrons the private phone number where they can be reached any time, day or night. to make their demands known.

Winship sez:
“(Chump) just wants a wall to please his white nationalist base, to feed his edifice complex and insatiable appetite for attention.”

His wall has been built — with the Red-hat Brigade and oligarchs on one side and “those people” on the other.
And the Assimilated Press paid for it.

Exactly, we have a national emergency, it’s our current political system, not the need for a wall.
We have corruptible voting machines that no one inside the system will lift a finger to fix. We have a system where the people’s voices are ignored by both sides of the isle. We have a system where a foreign power runs roughshod over our citizens and constitution, that’s Israel not Russia. We have a system where people vote for the lesser of two evils, instead of who they would like, because the system is set up for two corrupt parties who work together to subvert the will of the voters. Those LOTE voters have been brainwashed into believing they must support the system. And many more issues too long to list here.
As much as I despise Trump, he didn’t cause this, he’s the symptom of this corrupt system. He is who a percentage of our voters, who were desperate turned to, to fix the system, that’s how sad and pathetic our system is. Of course Trump uses this desperation to further rig his long con again his supporters, that’s how sad and pathetic he is.

I believe that Trump’s obsession with the wall is rooted in his drive to make it his Mt. Rushmore. One of the psychiatrists who contributed to “The Dangerous Donald Trump” called it malignant narcissism. The “loopy, meandering” character of his press conference and all of his cabinet meetings is due to attention deficent hyperactivity disorder. People who work with him say that he is difficult to work with because his attention span is so short. Yes, political party dysfunction has contributed to his election, but also the vagaries of the electoral college. Also, in “The Political Brain”, Drew Westin posits that eighty five per cent of the electorate vote for emotional reasons, such as George Herbert Walker Bush’s Willie Horton and Ronald Reagan’s Cadillac welfare queen’s who drove their Cads to pick up their food stamps. So following the walloping that the white blue collar workers took in the great depression of 2007, “Make America Great Again” resonated. The scary thing about Trump is that there’s more to come.

And though may have not meant it (“more to come”) in this way, with every passing day Trump and his “political opposition” are guaranteeing his reelection. If that happens, it will turn the rest of the world far more profoundly against the entire nation as a hopeless basket case and cause a unifying of the rest of the world against this nation, Israel, and the Brexited UK and break the hegemony of the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency.
That, and progressive non-super majorities in both houses of Congress, will produce a gridlock that will tear this nation apart and set people against one another in a way that will be profoundly destructive to all.
