Trump Policies Threaten Housing-Health Integration for People With Mental Health Conditions

Anna Bailey
May is mental health month, a time to focus on efforts to ensure that people with mental health conditions have the resources they need to live in the community. Stable housing and health care are both essential for good mental health, but housing instability and lack of access to health care are all too common among people with mental health conditions.

I used to work at a local non-profit that helped the poor mentally ill of our community. After a while their pain and suffering became my pain and suffering. I used to consider myself poor, but to see their abject poverty…living like zombies day after day with nothing to look forward to…no hope at all. Well it eventually got to me and I had to leave. If we are to judge a society by how it treats the least of us…then this society is damned to hell.

This is before Trump even stepped up to the plate. Imagine it now…
