Trump’s Budget Director Reveals Plans to Attack Social Security and Medicare

Nancy J. Altman

Opponents of Social Security and Medicare are so eager to end these two overwhelmingly important and popular earned benefits that they can’t contain themselves. Mick Mulvaney, the Trump administration’s director of the Office of Management and Budget, is the latest to make crystal clear the longstanding plan to destroy both programs.

They have been cutting Medicare all along without even announcing cuts. These announced cuts will be even bigger cuts than the ones we have seen during the past two years.

Oh wow, I think that that budget director will be just another dead man walking !
Weirdly, why wouldn’t he cut the military what with what accounting firm Ernst and Young told everyone—that the military lies and cheats and dissembles–and has been doing so for a long time, and even worse— no one can figure out where all that money went. Maybe all military people of a certain level need to a have an in-depth yearly accounting study of their finances.
So this budget guy wants hordes of grandfathers and grandmothers walking the streets and living in tents or on sidewalks------he must have really hated his parents. We seem to attract a lot of people haters here in the high flying government workers in America. : (

“They tell us that seniors are taking from children, that people with disabilities are taking from seniors.”

And the repugs are taking from everyone. No matter how you determine morality - no harm, religion, group identity - this is immoral and the evangelicals own this. McYertle flat out said before the election that they were going to go after SS and Medicare, but the evangelicals still voted for the granny starvers.

“Why are these opponents so hostile to such important programs? Social Security, …, and Medicare…”

Austerity is a 500 year-old very stable economic policy throughout the Americas.

An insecure, uneducated and semi sick population afraid of dying in poverty will work for what ever capitalists pay. Historically, that works out to subsistence plus a procreation bonus.

Independent green socialists understand yhose who grudgingly hand out lumps of coal during the holidays.

I’ve been to DC many times as I grew up East of Baltimore.

Many times during Vietnam War Protests, KXL protests, Museum hunting, Kennedy Center performances, bar hopping and movie nights at the Biograph.

What brought you there?

Three day pass from Ft. Lee. Did the monuments and Smithsonian, slept in the park. Had a round trip bus tickets and five dollars between my buddy and I. She almost did us both. Man did we have the best music at the right time or what.

Whenever you hear ANY politician say “reform” about ANYTHING, better grab your ass AND your wallet. Obama was an ass hole for even offering Boehner a “deal” on SS/Medicare. Thank god for all of us the Republicans turned it down.
