Trump "Simply Doesn't Care": Six Members of HIV/AIDS Advisory Panel Resign

Andrea Germanos, staff writer

Six members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS have resigned in protest saying that Donald Trump "simply does not care," and that he is not only unaware of the continuing impact the epidemic has on communities but is supporting legislation that threatens to reverse recent gains.

Sure he cares! I wouldn't be surprised if he and his son are coordinating a charity event for HIV patients right this moment!

#3

Yeah, just like the leukemia fund for children that they(trump & sons) kept for themselves!

Hello Andrea Germanos, A small error in typing the word live instead of life from the paragraph "The resignations came just days before an ad by sponsored by 19 organizations, including the Southern AIDS Coalition and AIDS United, and representing 100 national and community-based organizations, called on senators to "Say no to Medicaid caps and cuts" and "not take LIVE-saving healthcare and treatment away from people with HIV and millions of others." It should read "The resignations came just days before an ad by sponsored by 19 organizations, including the Southern AIDS Coalition and AIDS United, and representing 100 national and community-based organizations, called on senators to "Say no to Medicaid caps and cuts" and "not take LIFE-saving healthcare and treatment away from people with HIV and millions of others."

Oh, but being anti-AIDS treatment/research, and anti-gay (or LGBTQIA) is a long held moral majority, Christian GOP ethical "value".

Robert Randall (one of the total of 13 people ever in the Compassionate IND program, controlled by NIDA --institute of Drug Addiction, not healthcare, which gave medical marijuana to those 13, supplied by the grow at Old Miss--only joints at 3% THC, real schwag--no edibles, topicals, concentrates, no CBD only, no high CBD strains--nothing else) was trying to up enrollment with AIDS patients in the Compassionate IND program at a National AIDS conference, Sn Fran--1991. Soon, AIDS patient applications flooded the FDA.

As a result, the Bush admin abruptly shut down the entire MMJ Compassionate IND program to all new AIDS applicants, and anybody else--totally shut it down. Which is in part why states eventually went medical--the cat got out of the bag.

Those 13 were protected by grandfather clause. 3-4 I think are still alive.

I would wager that most people (both pro and anti drug war) are totally clueless about this program.

On rainbow day, let's keep in mind, without AIDS patients fighting for their lives, with the help of Dennis Peron, Brownie Mary, and many others--states would have not have much the incentive to create medical (mmj) laws. Or put another way, dying AIDS patients are the ones primarily responsible for the fight for this human right--but hey--they were used to fighting for those, were they not?

Now you can still get in the program if dying possibly, but you won't be getting any bud, just some new, experimental big pharma drug, not yet approved by one department of Big Pharma, known as the FDA.

GOP--where is Anita Bryant when you really need her?

This is beyond the promise of jobs that was promised for the poor buggers left behind. This is truly grotesque. Why do the evangelicals still believe in this administration? Oh ya: they believe in the Garden of Eden, Cain and Abel, the floods the creation of the earth. The second coming, the rapture, the burning bush, little babies magically appear. Feel free to add to the list. Trump did manage to sell billions of arms to the regimes that hate us the most. We are a global joke albeit a dangerous one. A twenty first century copy of the 30's Germany. We have managed to sell class a arms to our enemies and alienate all our friends. What could possibly go wrong?

yeah trump "simply dosent care" about anything except himself ...period...

"Because we do not believe the Trump administration is listening to—or cares—about the communities
we serve as members of PACHA, we have decided it is time to step down," he writes.

Once again, we see Trump as someone who seems incapable of empathy, compassion. --
nor able to understand the harm he is doing to the nation he allegedly serves as president.

What is it that creates this kind of suicidal thinking?
