U.S. Has Only Acknowledged A Fifth of Lethal Drone Strikes, New Study Finds

Murtaza Hussain, The Intercept

Over the past decade, the United States has claimed broad authority to carry out drone strikes across the world, even in places far from the battlefield. Under President Barack Obama, the U.S. acknowledged killing between 2,867 and 3,138 people in strikes that took place in countries like Somalia, Yemen, and Pakistan.

Predatory Killers R US

Our Pentagon and Congress are creating and arming all sides of Mideast wars including ISIS and al Qaeda who fight for us in Syria but also murder us. We’re not really a nation, more of a greasy gangbang from 30,000 feet. You can’t be no man from 30 grand. We lost the Vietnam War but the mafia and CIA kept control of the Golden Triangle’s heroin. God bless tax free war profits, the World Bank to money- launder it and corporate news journalistic imposters to censor it and propangandize patriotism. We are betrayed. They orchestrated our 9-11 unity into a new world order called murder.

This is an extension of what the United States government has been doing for well over half a century–meddling in other countries’ affairs, and toppling and/or attempting to topple foreign governments that don’t tally up with the United States’ interests. It’s disgusting…and pathetic, not to mention a waste of important resources, and the throwing of good money after bad into financing these illegal, wrongheaded and unnecessary wars abroad. The time for the United States to keep its nose out of other people’s affairs and to start cleaning up its own backyard, once and for all, is long, long overdue.

The lethal drone strikes that were rained down on foreign countries by the United States, both under Obama and are intensifying even more under Trump, were and are completely and totally wrong. The fact that the United States has acknowledged only a fifth of Lethal Drone Strikes is disgraceful.

Even though Obama acknowledged the killing between 2, 867 and 3, 138 people in Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan, that acknowledgement was done far too late in his presidency, but more important, shouldn’t have been started at all. President Trump, however, has unquestionably made an already-bad situation worse by intensifying the amount of Lethal Drone Strikes by the United States on foreign countries, thereby finishing the job that Obama had already started.

This policy, too, is a continuation of an interventionist foreign policy that the United States has carried out for more than a half century.

The United States has been murdering people abroad for more than a half century, well before 9/11.

Rather what Dwight Eisenhower warned against in 1961. The military industrial complex rules this country.
