Activists identifying themselves as the "conscience" of one of the United Kingdom's most prominent climate change skeptics on Monday shut down operations at an open-cast coal mine—the country's largest—which happens to be situated on land owned by the notorious climate-denier and aristocrat, Conservative Viscount Matt Ridley.
How would you like to be lying on your back on the asphalt with your hands handcuffed to someone else's through pieces of pipe, like a horizontal crucifixion?! I think any of us who's done anything in a public demonstration even as simple as a sit-in, or standing with linked arms facing a group of cops, (or unfriendly "bystanders"), knows that even those simple gestures can be pretty scary. So these guys are really brave.
And the message of their banner is totally unambiguous and undeniably correct.
