“The secretary general further lamented that not all parties heeded his call earlier this year for a global ceasefire in order to focus “on the true fight of our lives,” referring to the pandemic.”

I don’t recall seeing any headlines pertaining to any “parties” calling a ceasefire.

But, he said, three barriers are standing in the way to achieving lasting peace, including dwindling public trust in governments and public instituions and the international economic crisis that stands to deepen existing inequality.

Guterres said an additional danger was the “weakening of the social fabric.”

Seems like the biggest barrier to peace has always been the exploitation of the comparatively weak by the comparatively powerful, hasn’t it? Weird how he missed that…

The Secretary-General’s call for a Global Cease-Fire is the perfect conduit to begin a new global peace movement! The motivation for the people of the world to unite is the CHILDREN. The rationale is the people in every country want their children to grow up in a safe and healthy environment – in a world with NO VIOLENCE.

A plan is prepared for a Gandhi / King-like people movement called a Global Movement of Nonviolence, For the Children (GMofNV). The people usually working as the caretakers of the children, “Women,” will be asked to be the FIRST to rise-up and unite as the peacemakers, then invite the men to join.

Please see the website: Global Strategy of Nonviolence.
