Biden may not like it, " I won, Bernie lost " but who cares.

The only solution is Improved Medicare for All. That means lowering the age to birth.

Interesting. So what should be done for America to implement a single payer healthcare system and expand social security?

The USA breaks treaties everyday. If Congress wanted it, we’d have National Improved Medicare for All. The USA controls the WTO. If the USA wanted to, they rewrite the agreement.

Or just choose to ignore it. Trade agreements and treaties are only as good as the nations that are are party to them. Just like large corporations that regularly ignore governments regulations and rulings against them, governments can, and do, ignore and unilaterally change treaties.
At the end of the day there is not a member nation in the WTO that would object to, or stand in the way, of the USA implementing a single payer healthcare system. It’s the advantage of being the USA. We’re still the biggest cock on the walk.

I asked you what can and should be done (I didn’t ask for the legalese version)
How, in your opinion, does the US implement the same kind of single payer systems that already occur in our partner nations in the WTO?

Their programs are grandfathered in as of the signing of the WTO agreements. Uncle Sam’s nuts are in a vise, is what I believe @zed is suggesting.

Union bumper stickers should be issued:

“The people who can destroy a thing, they control it.”

It is not only low income folks who are stressed at work. I’ve talked with managers and even executives who are overworked and pushed to work long hours on a regular basis to the point of breakdowns and needing therapy.

Amazon is not the only place stressing labor, also. I returned to McDonald’s for a simple job after 40 years of doing other things. I was assistant manager in 1978 . This time I was aghast at 1) Signs in the break room telling people to work hard and fast, 2) The number of security cameras in the kitchen area, 6 or seven, many more than in the lobby, enough for one for each worker!

Biden is a geriatric asshole who has spent decades working on behalf of the banks and insurance companies and pushing laws that have made life miserable for regular people. Meanwhile, he and “Dr. Jill” have glorious medical coverage, as do all of his friends, close family, and professional associates.

Tigers do not change their stripes.

Why are these feckless worms in charge of the U.S. Congress? What did they do to earn their leadership positions? What are the qualities of a leader? Do these people possess the qualities of leaders? If these people do not possess the qualities of leaders, then why are they in leadership positions?

And one other thing: Why are these people so weird? Why do they appear to be afraid of their own shadows? Why do they look as though they just emerged from a ritual orgy with exotic animals? Why do they skulk about in private and put up charades in public? What bizarre self-projections allow them to be so glib despite being so utterly dysfunctional?

Zed I have been reading your comments on this since you started posting it. I’d love for you to post it on our little site if you’d be interested.

The short answer to most of your questions is corporate bribes.

Or, emulate Costa Rica, which has a socialized plan and a higher life expectancy than the United States.

Somehow the Idea of Pelosi and Schumer scheming about how to reform Medicare, Drug prices and infrastructure does not lend me much comfort. I envision an overdose of Opiates, (purchased at exorbitant prices not covered by my Medicare), taking hold of me just as the decrepit interstate bridge I am driving across collapses into a ravine. All this while Pelosi and Schumer toast their 50,000th term in the congress and senate - their faces twisted with devious and grotesque grins of self approval.

the Democrats will never really address the problem at the heart of the health care crisis—capitalism—until we get the profits OUT of the equation the capitalists will continue to do their greedy amoral exploitation of the American people—the reason for this is simple —the Democrats are being paid to make sure the American people have NO CHOICE but to suffer under the excesses of the capitalist drive for profits at any cost (to us --not them) and any changes around the edge are simply the red herrings they spill in their wake to gaslight the people with—the ACA was and still is a profit protection plan developed by the very right wing Heritage Foundation–first implemented by Mit Romney–when it was first introduced I could afford the premium (barely) but could NOT afford the deductibles and co-pays—consequently no heath care for years because I could not afford it ( I could have gone into debt like every other poor American but chose to be sick rather than saddle my family with intractable debt) even though I had their crappy insurance

nothing short of a Single Payer Health Care system will do–time to get the corporate blood suckers off our backs–will the Democrats do this for the American people???—not a chance --they are owned body and soul by the corporations stuffing their pockets on the pain and suffering of the people and are being bribed to make sure the system never really changes it’s basic parameters–if you can pay you can live

Ooooooh, unions making demands of democrats after 40 years of abandonment and membership shrinkage, now they’ll be wielding some power, you betcha. They continued support for Mr Comfy Shoes after 4 years of nothing, and they worked against candidates who were friends of the members in the last two races.

The People’s Party, alone, would be better for unions, than their leadership, or the corporate tools they support, or the whole Democratic Party. It’s time for people to vote themselves a fair deal.

Yup, and there’s no greater return on investment than bribing an overseer.
