The war footing we need to be on to protect and restore our eco-systems will include war on our indifference, stupidity, militarism, greed, hate and the notion that we are seperate from the web of Life–we are not, we are a part of it and are totally depended on her.

Yes Giovanna. I wonder why homo sapiens are not on that list.

Very well said, Giovanna! If the people of the world do not hang together, we will all hang separately from climate horrors in the future.

In 1857, Chief Seattle’s ( actually his name was Chief Sealth ) response in a US inquiry about buying his Tribal lands.
" But how can you buy or sell the sky? The land? If we do not own the the freshness of the air and the sparkle of the water, how can you buy them?"

Human population growth is the number one driver of anthropogenic mass extinction. Capitalism, consumerism, selfishness, GMOs and other biotech, geoengineering, technoindustrialism, specieism, greed and other causes are part of the problem too.
We’re on track to extinguish the beautiful life of the only planet we’re sure has life on it.
Our species is a wrecking ball, the ultimate invasive species, a relentless, merciless killing machine.
Only by worldwide adoption of the following deep ecology principles do we have even the slightest hope of stopping planetary ecocide:

People understand species diversity as it relates to the human benefits of rainforest drugs and seafood. Most don’t care about how each species functions interdependently to keep all life chugging along, like a part of a car. Remove enough nuts and bolts and the car falls apart the way we are witnessing the fall of our global ecosystem.

Inequality complicated by overpopulation, but who cares? We have more important things to worry about, like the latest Trump scandal, war, or Megan and Prince Harry.

Not everyone watches Jimmy Dore, Kim Iversen, Richard Wolff, Noam Chomsky and all those other lefties on YouTube. Folks that vote prefer Hannity and FOX and Friends.

We have already entered the next mass extinction event.

And we won’t be spared from it.
