None of this comes as a surprise (and shouldn't to anyone who is in touch with the news--real news). The CIA has been up to dirty tricks (and murder) since its origins. That is what it was designed for: Spying, assassination, regime change, etc. What's the point of this fake investigation? We know people were tortured. Obama admitted "some" people were tortured. A few grunts were punished (bad apples) but no one in command or the White House was held accountable (and still aren't). JFK and RFK intended to reign in the CIA and look how well that worked out. They were already mad dogs by 9/11 but Bush 2 and Cheney really turned the dogs loose with: Sic'em!

MSM have up the role of real journalism decades ago. Hell, they can't even cover the DAPL correctly (and are totally ignoring the fact that a real journalist has been charged and an arrest warrant issued for her--illegal and a direct violation of Constitutional Rights).

All these facts about torture, spying on our own, means nothing. It changes nothing. Feinstein is part of the problem. In fact, they are all part of the problem.

Many thanks to the VIPS FOR their diligent work of keeping this public in the face of a totally silent and disfunctional MSM...

Terrorists conspire here.

Anyone else notice how many courageous whistle blowers are signatories?

The CIA isn't so ignorant as to believe torture produces useful information. There are simply too many examples showing other methods of interrogation are more fruitful and produce actual intelligence, instead of just what is said to avoid the next pain.

So why torture?

To send a message.

The reason for torturing captives and prosecuting whistleblowers is the same: to tell those who might challenge the empire: Oppose us and we will break you.

It was never about intelligence.

Just another egregious example of why the American MSM is so mistrusted and moribund!
