Violence Prevention Groups Push Obama to Take Bold Action in Gun Reform

Violence Prevention Groups Push Obama to Take Bold Action in Gun Reform

Lauren McCauley, staff writer

Violence prevention groups are demanding that U.S. President Barack Obama 'put his money where his mouth is' and take decisive action on gun safety.

The call came on Monday after Obama met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch to discuss possible executive actions that could be taken to tighten U.S. gun rules.

Yes, soon to be Lame Duck Obama, just to heap some more shit upon your "Legacy", go ahead and start wittling away at our second Amendment Rights- What with extending the Patriot Act and giving us the "Black Bag"/Repeal The Posse Comitatus Act of the NDAA this is right in step with your Totalitarian dream for America-

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The National Defense Authorization Act would allow "the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial."
The Posse Comitatus Act
The adoption of the “National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), HR 1540) is tantamount to the militarization of law enforcement, the repeal of the Posse Comitatus Act and the Inauguration in 2012 of Police State USA.

As in the Weimar Republic in Germany in the 1930s, fundamental rights and freedoms are repealed under the pretext that democracy is threatened and must be protected.

Domestic radical groups and labor activists constitute in the eyes of the Obama administration a threat to the established economic and political order.

The media is complicit in the demise of constitutional government.

All the components of Police State USA are currently in place. They go far beyond government snooping of emails and telephone conversations.
They include:

Extrajudicial assassinations of alleged terrorists including US citizens, in blatant violation of the Fifth amendment “No person shall. .. be deprived of life. .. without due process of law.”

The indefinite detention of US citizens without trial, namely the repeal of Habeas Corpus.
The establishment of “Internment Camps” on US Military Bases under legislation adopted in 2009 .

Under the National Emergency Centers Establishment Act (HR 645) the “Internment Camps”. can be used to “meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.”

The FEMA internment camps are part of the Continuity of Government (COG), which would be put in place in the case of martial law. The internment camps are intended to “protect the government” against its citizens, by locking up protesters as well as political activists who might challenge the legitimacy of the Administration’s national security, economic or military agenda.

The fact of the matter is that both the Executive and the US Congress are complicit in the drafting of Subtitle D. In this regard, Senator Carl Levin (D-Mich.) revealed that it was the White House which had asked the Senate Armed Services Committee “to remove language from the bill that would have prohibited U.S. citizens’ military detention without due process”

Obama justifies the signing of the NDAA as a means to combating terrorism, as part of a “counter-terrorism” agenda. But in substance, any American opposed to the policies of the US government can –under the provisions of the NDAA– be labelled a “suspected terrorist” and arrested under military detention.
Already in 2004, Homeland Security defined several categories of potential “conspirators” or “suspected terrorists” including “foreign [Islamic] terrorists”, “domestic radical groups”, [antiwar and civil rights groups], “disgruntled employees” [labor and union activists] and “state sponsored adversaries” ["rogue states", "unstable nations"]. The unspoken objective in an era of war and social crisis is to repress all forms of domestic protest and dissent.

This New Year’s Eve December 31, 2011 signing of the NDAA will indelibly go down as a landmark in American history. Barack Obama will go down in history as “the president who killed Constitutional democracy” in the United States.

*Violent Revolution is the last thing I would want- The very thought of it makes my skin crawl-But, I can't help but notice A pattern developing in this land- all resulting from the mysterious and highly questionable events of 9-11- Yea, that happening that Bush refused to Investigate until some housewives in New Jersey forced the matter- Then Bush and Cheney refused to swear under oath or be questioned separately- The Investigation, minus one Henry Kissinger turned out to be A half-assed laughable cruel JOKE- No one else within this Government has had the balls to reopen the investigation-
The Patriot Act was drawn up far in advance of this "surprise attack"- NDAA was soon to follow-
It goes on and on-The fact is I flat assed do not trust the Government within this Government- Now just why would they want to begin to disarm us? does that question enter anyone's mind- After all, they have quite an Army now, rapidly becoming A private Army that owes no allegiance to the American People or what is left of our Constitution-

Is taking away our guns the last step towards totalitarianism? They already record all of our conversations and have the means to disappear any leader brave enough to expose them or stand up to them- Anyone remember Paul Wellstone?
And what about our Media-Yes our Lying, manipulative Psyops Media-
Why on Earth would anyone want to remain armed or question handing over your personal protection to A Government that lets you get fleeced by Wall Street and the FED-
A Government that is just fine with millions of homeless while there are 28 empty homes rotting away for each and everyone of them-
A Government that turns it's back on the healthcare of Millions and lets 40,000 people A year senselessly die without basic health care? That's more than the number killed by all guns here in the good ole USA by the way-
Let me ask you this:
who has the most bargaining power- 100,000,000 unarmed Americans pleading for their freedom to an Adolf Hitler Koch type- or
100,000,000 Armed Americans saying they are sick and tired of the bullshit and aren't going to take it any longer- It CAN happen here, but only if we allow it....

Yup, might as well just let it rip. Everyone has the constitutional right to die in a gun fight. There is no hope, no hope whatsoever. However, if Obama or the sane portion of the population can get a little leverage, we can whittle away at that 340 million guns, and there will be a few less, and a few less, and a few less over time, and maybe, with some luck, the number might be reduced to something like a reasonable level.

You'll probably be in A FEMA camp before that happens- Or maybe you'll be A guard?

More people are being killed by police than by criminals. Obama is not disarming the police though they are killing unarmed people. And the so blatantly rigged mass shootings are almost always in gun-free zones, setting people up for such actions. Whereas if people had guns, no one could start firing on a crowd without worrying they themselves could be shot by anyone there.

All these liberals promoting gun removals while so insensitive to the fact that in black neighborhoods, even grandmothers have guns because that helps to ensure their homes won't be broken into. Without those guns, they're sitting ducks. In cities where people do own guns, the crime levels are lower.

But what's missed in all this are the number of innocent people this government has been killing and the number of countries it has been arming with massive weapons, or that it's run by corporations that are removing not just the 2nd amendment but the 1st, the 4th, the 10th and more.

Then there's the hoax of Sandy Hook. Download the only book Amazon bans - "No One Died at Sandy Hook," free on the web.

Then there's 9/11 and the Trillion dollars stolen (see James Corbett's documentary) and )the government killing people so they could go to war across the Middle East and remove your rights here. .

Or there are the mandated vaccines you're facing without knowing GAVI killed 10 thousand kids in Pakistan with the polio vaccine (See shocking truth about Syria and regime change), and when parents refused to bring their children to a possible death, the vaccines were mandated and parents were imprisoned. The clever thing about vaccines is you can't tell what's in them or spit them out like you can pills. But liberals are focused on wrecking the Constitution and not noticing that the CIA was in those vaccine teams and the CIA is tied to the CDC which made the ebola virus and patented.

So what are you paying attention to? Guns that the Constitution gives you the right to, or weapons of mass destruction and a government that has become the greatest militarized threat to humanity ever?

Thank you for this.

Common Dreams seems to be in place to disinform progressives. Many of the "Violence Prevention Groups" were set up for this "bold move" toward what is actually a long planned, stop by step UN gun confiscation plan. If you understand that the corporations, the Rockefellers and Rothschilds run the UN and that it has been continuously involved in genocide since it was set up - by the same folks that funded the Nazis. This is why Kurt Waldheim, the Nazi responsible for rounding up huge number of Mediterranean Jews in the last months of WWII and shipping them to Auschwitz, could be appointed as head of the UN. It's why Unicef was able to irradiate thousands of Jewish North African kids right after it was formed, burning their brains with 35,000 more than that the allowable limit, killing thousands, sterilizing almost all. It's why the WHO is involved in vaccine campaigns to sterilize millions of women in Kenya (with tetanus vaccines) and in Nigeria (with polio vaccines) and in the 90s, the same vaccines horrors in Central America and Indonesia. And their (UN, UNICEF, Doctors without Borders) vaccine campaigns in west Africa all coincided with ebola outbreaks (see Yoichi Shimatsu) though epidemics don't suddenly spring up in multiple places at the same time.

So, a bit of research on their plans to remove all weapons in the US is in order by progressives who pride themselves on knowing things. While we are at it, it would be good to look up Ebolagate and attorney generals and Obamacare since the UN and WHO (which is part of it) illegally inserted a strange section in it on death by "legal execution," which includes many forms of mass murders beheadings, gassing, shooting, etc.

So, since the gun thing being a UN thing, and the UN has a history of the 1% controlling (or Nazis, actually) and of on-going surreptitious genocide by vaccines (look up Ebolagate - WhO admits they caused AIDs with the smallpox vaccine but Omit they requested the virus), progressives might want to consider what is really going on.

Whoopie shit-the Black Helicopters have landed. Amazing to see how many cockroaches there are under the rug when the Prez is talking about getting serious on gun control. This is why I love CD.

Technically, literally speaking, the US constitution provides the right to bear arms but does not state the right to have unlimited munitions. Whilst one might claim bear arms equals the right to bear munitions, this taken in context at the time would not be true, due to the limited ability to carry munitions, musket ball, packing, black powder, severely limited shots, hence no clarification on munitions.
So under constitutional law, the sales and availability of munitions can be readily applied. Limits on magazine size, limits on number of rounds purchased every year, tax status should cover all harm caused, limits on number of rounds allowed to be held at any one time.
Under the US constitution you have a right to arms but not a right to ammunition. Keep in mind when that constitution was written the ability to carry ammunition in total was pretty much equivalent to what people now carry in one magazine, hence hugely limited.
In all references including that time period, arms are separated from munitions as two distinct reference, weapon versus ammunition.

Used to be you could get around the gun laws in Ct. by buying a black powder revolver. Like a nicely made Spanish replica of a Navy Colt-many of which were used during the Civil War with deadly effect. Sometimes the deadly effect was to the operator, when chain fire occurred and all six rounds went off simultaneously, or when one of the pre-loaded cylinders in an officer's ammo bag went off by accident. The good old days, when you had to be very deliberate about killing someone with a gun.

A better way to prevent mass shootings would be to ban concealed carry. If we can see the gun, we can take protective measures. If we can't see the gun, it's too late to protect ourselves.

Even at the Hang Dog Saloon in 1863 it was required that you check your guns and razors at the door. I don't know who enforced this, or how, or even where the Hang Dog Saloon was.

Guns and alcohol are a dangerous combination

British line officers during WW1 often drank a quart of whiskey a day-to-get this - deal with protracted lack of sleep. It was the ones who drank two quarts per day who were considered drunks. I happen to be reading Robert Graves' "Goodbye to All That", in which he describes this practice in detail. He was a one quart a day man.

I'll be a guard.I'll stand by with my three cornered hat, my Brown Bess, a hundred rounds of the best, and plenty of flints and wadding. The evil-doers will be terrified of me.

Ha! Lock and load::grinning:

Man, that is one hell of A lot of Whiskey- My ole Man drank A quart every other day+ 2 packs of Camels and lived to A ripe old age- But every day? One's liver would sure take A beating....
