VW to Pay Historic Fines, But Will Trump DOJ Kill Any Corporate Accountability?

Nadia Prupis, staff writer

Volkswagen on Wednesday agreed to plead guilty to three criminal felony counts and agreed to pay a record $4.3 billion in fines and fees related to its emissions cheating scandal in the U.S., while another six top executives were charged over their alleged roles in the conspiracy to rig air pollution tests.

In an actually civilized society, a company like this would be closed down permanently, and provisions made so that non-involved workers are hired at other companies, or re-trained to find similar work.

Paying a fine (of which the corporate insurer pays almost in its entirety) only allows a company like this to continue the flout the law in other ways.

As if there has been any corporate accountability under any administration.

What are dems smoking nowadays, as their never-ending keening and hysteria leads them to accuse trump of the same things that dems did while in office?

Every time I see a hysterical title like this one, knocking trump for this or that, I laugh about all the dems who are so biased that they couldn't see that dems did the same thing.
