With the clamor growing around Trumpian disdain for freedom of the press, his infamous "off-the-record" meeting with corporate media stars, and their grovelling subservience to it, we offer a chilling Exhibit A: As Trump left the "failing" offices of the New York Times Tuesday, he was roundly booed by bystanders. CBS' report: "Donald Trump is greeted with cheers." We need Orwell now more than ever: "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."
Remember the "Dean Scream"? The media is the 1% and working in their own best interest and creating a horse race, creating conflict is in their own best interest and they will continue to do so, so more and more groups spend advertising dollars with them.
The media is not a free press and hasn't been for a long time. Just like our democracy is for sale so is the media. Media likes banks need more regulations and broken up as they are owned by six corporations.
We need Orwell now more than ever: "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." geez you guys are just figuring this out now!!! I thought this was brought home a couple years ago by none other than Chelsea Manning.... how soon the press forgets....and forgets what there job is....to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.... how pathetic the purveyors of "news " have become... nothing but scyophants and brown nosers for the most part....Democracy Now and Amy Goodman and crew excluded...thank goodness for them and there like,.... lets face it usa...you got conned big time..and the media helped him do it....sad...your going to be governed by a serial tweeter.....so unfair..... so pathetic....
