ā€œthe American military project has deeply worsened the climate crisis. And that crisis is now, undeniably, on our shores.ā€

Good article by Sarah Lazare. Too bad the American people cannot force the military to make a new 2 trillion $$$$$$ 20 year commitment to fight the real terror of the coming apocalyptic climate crisis.

All wars are a waste, Sarah, all of them. I’m not sure Afghanistan is over, either, but I hope it is.

There are more wars to fight, never fear, oh, I mean always fear. There is more waste ongoing everywhere. Just look at all of the US military bases in the world.

The new Guinea uprising in the news… but not so well known is that it seems the US managed it: ā€œGuinea takeover highlights how US military training programs are breeding violent coupsā€.

True, unless one is a war profiteer!

Total bullhockey. We did NOT spend 20 years fighting terrorism. We spent 20 years generating huge kickbacks from war profiteers to judges and other politicians.

Now that Putin purchased the Moscow/Nazi Party and the Democratic Party is owned by health insurance and finance, we might as well stop these endless pointless wars, the politicians no longer need those bribes.

don’t forget, in 2003, more than 80% of the american public supported the invasion of iraq

good point

We will indeed look back on these past twenty years, and the trillions of dollars spent on war profiteering instead of a green infrastructure, as the first days of the fall of the human race.
It is far too late for us now. Our only hope at this late juncture should be that the Earth manages to recover from the Homo sapiens scourge in a few million years. This planet recovered from the great Permian extinction, so it may be resilient enough for this challenge. However, if we keep going like we are, a scenario where we become the second Venus is certainly within the realm of possibility.

on purpose–climate change required novel thinking–new approaches - new technologies- new ideas–that meant the the fossilized capitalist paradigm was forced to chose between the same old ways regardless of the consequences of that path --or to become inventive -and progressive --to lead the world to paradise with their new ideas and climate friendly solutions–so they went for war --a time honored way for capitalists to make money on the pain and suffering of both their own populations which were starved for resources to feed the military machine and the populations who were the targets of our bombs–much easier than thinking don’t you know–all the propaganda for war is already in place --just insert the names of the new enemy

After 20 years Not a single general received punishment for lying about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Good article in the Gray Zone about our continuous interference with peace in Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Sarah, it was just Afghanistan and it isn’t over. The money is still tied up in making other people’s lives hell.

ā€œIn Somalia, the US is bombing the very ā€˜terrorists’ it ā€¦ā€
