'What a Failed State Looks Like': GOP Under Fire for Blocking Necessary Funds as Covid Vaccine Distribution Begins

911 definitely a controlled demolition. All one has to do is google Youtube for controlled demolition and one will see the truth. Buildings don’t come down in seconds from fire.

Just keep a positive bank balance, and all will be fine. Privatization poses no threat to you.

You can go anywhere you want, eat any meal you can afford. Medical care, brand new, custom-clone-grown organs, a whole new life, it all will be at your fingertips.

Cashless Cities gates just open. They already know your name, shoe size, everything. Stores don’t have cashiers. You just take what you need and go, its all debited from your account. Vaccines, or any kind of healthcare, will be debited from your account. Cars just drive and none of the usual problems apply.

What kind of fucking reply is that ?

I meant no harm, please accept my apology. I’m on your side, whatever it is. We’re all in this together. Really.

We humans have to stick together. We’re all we’ve got.

It’s supposed to be ironic.

You forgot razing the blighted postwar neighborhoods via Eminent Domain to allow developers to build new Energy Efficient™ ones to join the desperate competition to bring in more rateables and more wealthy constituents. Anything to push the poor out and off the welfare rolls.

I agree we have one effective party, the corporate party, now morphing into a cabal of non-Trumper republicans and corporate-owned democrats, as the Biden wing woos the Lincoln Project repubs. The constituencies left unrepresented will be the Tea Party Trumpers and the progressives. The Trumpers will devolve into violence and chaos. The progressives, if they have the spine for it, will start a third (or another) party or it is all over in the US. It may be anyway. The empire is in decline and it may be inevitable. The last faint hope I have is the Peoples’ Party, which registered a couple of weeks ago in the first state thus far, Maine. If they can coalesce around a consistent salient message and not get distracted by various interests, they might have a chance of becoming relevant.

Allowing psychopaths to rule over you, then expecting them to feel your pain… How does this somehow equal “freedom” ? Of which we have also allowed way too much: freeing psychopaths to do their thing…is it really wise?

So, if the virus spreads, as it is currently, until it affects the entire population, with 3% mortality something like 10 million people will die.
But that doesn’t matter because most of them will be elderly and would have died anyway.
So it is nothing to worry about and not really a pandemic at all.
Thanks for that. For further information you might want to go to the World Socialist Website and read the report on Sweden and how herd immunity is working out there.

Your graph is helpful, AlephN. Leaders for the week for highest mortality rates are South Dakota, 2.49, and Iowa, 1.94. This doesn’t surprise me. @BigB comment above explains concisely and accurately Supply Side economics, and successfully implemented by right wing politicians in these 2 upper midwest states. Probably the Chicago School wishes all a Merry Christmas.

Alter is a verb. Altar is a structure where offerings or sacrifices are made for religious purposes.

(yeah, I’m a spelling Nazi…)

The flip side to worrying about the fallout of Trump supporters because of trials and not seating those who tried to subvert the Constitution, is not holding them to account. If there are no consequences for their actions, it will get worse in the future with these people, I firmly believe this was Roosevelt’s biggest mistake, not holding those who attempted the fascist coup during his administration, and one of the biggest reasons we are dealing with this subversion today.

Also, as many covid survivors are learning, covid can be forever. Once you get it, you may never be well again.

I’m reminded of the time when, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, trucks attempting to deliver bottled water and other supplies to the Superdome in New Orleans were turned away.

In my opinion all of humanity is left unrepresented, because we the people have no standing at the economic governance level, only at the political level (which is in Washington) which is increasingly irrelevant and ineffectual and indeed, rigged to only make things worse whenever doing anything economic (which ll these things are, and the ratchets involved turned everything thats done, more and more into property rights for corporations) Movement cant restore our rights, it seems to me, and from what I can tell the structure we’re stuck in could not restore our rights because that would require buying them back at a potentially tremendous cost, it can only further alienate our rights and indeed, that’s all we’ll get whenever anything, any event occurs, its a one way ratchet, like a fish trap or ratchet or perhaps noose is the best analogy. The more we move the tighter it gets. Please realize, we’re all being gamed here. We’re literally all in this together. Sock puppets are most certainly working hard on both sides dividing the country. Because we do have shared values, and when we realize that we’ll be very strong and able to escape the trap.

You must mean corporate rule. You can see the evolving jurisprudence of the global economic governance layer at italaw dot com and the various international orgs -there is a good schematic of them as of 2011 which is still fairly current as far as I know, at ~http://www.levyinstitute.org/conferences/minsky2011/presentations/Wallach.pdf
