'What Climate Leadership Looks Like': Democrats' Bill Would Stop Trump From Ditching Paris Accord

Jake Johnson, staff writer

House Democrats Wednesday introduced legislation to bar President Donald Trump from ditching the Paris climate accord and force the White House to submit a plan to slash carbon emissions, drawing praise from environmental groups.

"Donald Trump's attempt to withdraw the United States from this landmark agreement is one of his most egregious steps to weaken our country's international standing."
—Michael Brune, Sierra Club

More CYA claptrap from the d-party.

The Paris Accord is a voluntary agreement.
Each signatory to the accords sets their own emission reduction goals.
Pretty much all of those goals are laughably inadequate.
In the lead up to 2020, when the Accord kicks in, not a single signatory is on track to achieve their goal.

Yep, Trump sucks.
But the d-party’s motto, “We Suck Less,” is not going to save us from climate chaos.

If Pelosi is on board, it can’t be much of a bill. Probably just a sop to intelligent, liberal Democrats.
