What We Have and How It Got Here

What We Have and How It Got Here

A Labor Day salute from our own Bangor Police Department, whose wry, canny, oh-so-human Facebook page has won improbable fame with its postings on its Duck of Justice, Hats for the Homeless program, scolding of the jerk who stole an elderly woman's chairs, and tales of inept drug dealers caught speeding at 2 a.m: We know from our mothers "nothing ever good happens after 1:59." Labor Day, it notes, is "for us to take a long hard look at what we have and how it got here."

Bullshit! Maybe not in Maine, but what about all the poeple working the graveyard shift in the mines and mills down here?
