Where Is the Body of This Man Tortured to Death by the CIA?

Jessica Corbett, staff writer

As the Senate prepares to reexamine the CIA's dark history of torture amid mounting opposition to Gina Haspel's nomination to run the agency, the family of an Afghan man who was tortured to death at a black site near Kabul, Afghanistan is

Haspel – along with ex-V.P. Cheney, Eric Prince, Karl Rove and several others – should be imprisoned for the remainder of her life, NOT made director of the CIA.

They might as well have appointed a “black” widow spider!!

Most people with a conscience have periods of self doubt and argue with their conscience about the morality of their actions.

These people who are so assured that whatever they do is above questions are a mystery to me. How can someone who responsible for torture of another human live with themselves ? How can someone who is responsible for so much suffering and harm allow themselves to be put on trial before the entire world and yet feel justified and safe from judgement of their actions?

Hate has replaced righteous human feelings and behavior.

Honestly don’t you know? Haspel had him cut into bite size pieces and roasted him for dinner. I think she said he tasted like pork, which is an awful thing to say about a Muslim.

What kind of country would appoint a torturer to run anything??

Right, the kind of country that killed millions of people who never threatened or attacked America, the kind of country that exports more killing equipment than any other, the kind of country that routinely overthrows democratically elected governments and the kind of country that picks a climate change denier for president???

The obvious extension of torturing citizens of other nations will lead to torture of American citizens. It’s a given. Anyone who tortures is not worthy to be called himan.

Not hi man but human.

Keep this story in mind when anyone tries to use that “ticking time bomb” argument for torture. He was tortured to death. He was tortured and left to die. Kind of difficult for him to tell you where that bomb is, even when he was still alive.

Torture is not about getting urgently needed information. It is about racism, revenge and U.S.-sponsored terrorism.

Also, have the psychologists who worked on the program or justified it lost their licenses to practice?

No. But Drs. John Bruce Jessen and James Mitchell were paid millions of tax payer dollars for their criminal advice. Some say as high as $80 million. DemocracyNow covered this extensively back in the day. Google them. There is currently a lawsuit against them for their disgusting business.

Good luck to the family on getting any truthful information from the US Government.

It is also time that the US Government comes clean on what appear to be CIA torture deaths in Guantanamo in 2006:

but the U.S. is such a great paragon of virture? no

This kind of thing has been going on since time immemorial practiced by those in power who have no allegiance to humanity or human rights.

It is also good for extracting confessions — which can be used for propaganda purposes, whether or not the torturee is actually guilty of anything.

Not likely.  And last I heard, John Yoo – whose memos were used by the Lying Son-of-a-Bush to justify torture – was still teaching law - LAW!! - at U.C. Berkeley . . .

Right you are and the same applies to WARS of any description. However I am still horrified that this government is now so blatantly appointing those responsible for torture which has been deemed wrong by The Convention against Torture.

“The Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (commonly known as the United Nations Convention against Torture (UNCAT)) is an international human rights treaty, under the review of the United Nations, that aims to prevent torture and other acts of cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment around the world. etc”

And I know that black site of extraordinary rendition are the result of the United Nations Convention against Torture as partially stated above.

It was horrible enough to have those two presidential candidates in 2016 and now this…this country could to be another Brazil very soon if in November there are no changes for the better
