Where's the Proof? Calls to Declassify Evidence of Russian Election Hack Resound

Deirdre Fulton, staff writer

"Let's have some proof."

That's what some observers are demanding of President Barack Obama, urging him to declassify as much evidence as possible to support CIA claims that Russia interfered in the U.S. elections to bolster President-elect Donald Trump's candidacy.

Isn't this the same James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, who lied to Sen Ron Wyden during questioning in front of the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on March 12th, 2013, re gathering data (illegally spying) on US citizens by the department he headed, and still heads, the National Intelligency Agency?

Everything we needed to know we learned in kindergarten. What was that about lying and trust?

Time to put Trump on hold. An investigation based on the Constitution that prevents a President from having foreign business dealings for personal profit. Turkey is holding two Trump employees demanding release of someone from the US. China holding US debt is upset with Trump and Taiwan where Trump is in business. Putin/Trump/Exxon long in bed with oil deals put on hold by sanctions against Russia for aggression. Keep Obama in office until the investigation ends. Trump is a serious threat to the US and the world.

There's nothing to declassify Obama is urged to lie about this by the deep state. The deep state wants perpetual wars to continue to fleece the American taxpayers, keep the dollar status unchallenged and US elite owned banks in charge of world economy. Continuing on that track however has made America worse of unlike what we have seen back in the 1900's. Our civil rights along with our standard of living have been sinking down like a lead weight since Reagan's first term fast dropping about to fall below that of the 3rd world. Curbing the Pentagon waste alone has been estimated will save us enough money to offer every American free high quality healthcare college education.

Let the electoral college and the American people see the evidence. We're about to enter into a Trump presidency, but there is time to stop it.

Or, if there is nothing there, the people deserve to know.

We were denied the truth about the vote by denying or manipulating the recount. Let's have some truth on this.

#6

Well then what would you suggest, bombing Iran, attacking Russia and destroying Syria keep all other US imposed wars fires burning the planet just as Natanyahu wills?

#7

The truth is it's all hog wash perpetrated by the banking elites and the pentagon war mongers who want to continue the path of war, subjugation of Russia and China using American tax dollars and the blood of our young service men and women in a quest for global domination.

#8

Yes, but we knew all that before we elected him, didn't we. No, Obama can't pull our chestnuts out for us. This is all our problem now.

#9

Where's the proof? As someone that has read many Russian blogs, I can tell you that the Russians may have not been responsible for the hacks, but they certainly had strong motives to support Trump for POTUS. Like about $500,000,000.00 in motives!

Pardon me, but what language was this translated from? Some odd syntax.

We helped rig the election of Boris Yeltsin in 1996.

Why is it that we can do all sorts of intervention to other nations and they cannot do it to us? Just to name a few; drones killing people in sovereign nations, rigging foreign elections, the overthrow of governments, illegal wars, war crimes, keeping third world nations and their people poor, we can have nukes but other nations cannot and military exercises on the border of countries that we do not like.

Just imagine what would happen if China or Russia had military exercises on the US Canadian border.

I have seen the enemy and it is us. POGO

I'm posting this Moon of Alabama piece just to illustrate how low the journalistic standards have fallen and how silly the "fake news" can get. As Professor Stephen Cohen said in his interview last week, we are in a post fact era.
I fully expect it to get worse.

To steal an observation from Brazil:

In order to make the 'national omelet', you have to, well you know...'

For every minute spent on the propaganda machine, spend five on researching issues. The eggs being smashed are being whipped, not beaten, and the soufflé has a greater tendency to fall.

I suggest an investigation into Trump before he is in the White House and his horrible cabinet is in place. Let Obama continue as President. Constitutional scholars have been working on this the minute Trump ran for President. They told him he had to get out of his business or be in violation of the Constitution. Then we wait until the investigation reaches a conclusion. An independent investigation by respected Constitutional scholars. Not a partisan House witch-hunt.

#15

There is bipartisan agreement in the Senate to investigate this in addition to the investigation that Obama ordered. With all these investigations I would think we will be able to know a lot more about this as time goes on. Given widespread agreement among a number of agencies that Russia was involved in hacking it seems that the best thing to do is assume it to be true but to keep demanding proof. In a democracy the public requires that solid evidence be demonstrated. But we also need to keep in mind that many people do not believe that Americans ever set foot on the moon despite the whole thing being televised so it is likely that some people will still not believe the Russians were engaged in hacking regardless of what evidence is presented for them to review.

" Why is it that we can do all sorts of intervention to other nations and they cannot do it to us?"

I think Paul Craig Roberts has an excellent answer to your question.

" Washington does not accept law, neither domestic or international as a constraint on its actions. Washington is the "Exceptional Indispensable". No one else counts. No law, no Constitution, and no humane consideration has authority to constrain Washington's will.

In it's claims...Washington surpasses that of the Third Reich."

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Also a little rich coming from America, a nation which has interfered in more elections in other countries than can be counted.

The most interesting part of this "controversy" is not whether or not Russia tried to meddle in U.S. elections, it is the absurd outrage at the possibility.

Seriously? We can dish it out, but we can't take it? The U.S. has been meddling in foreign elections for at least 60 years (Operation Mockingbird), if not longer.

We have installed horrible regimes, even worse than Trump, in many countries. Maybe we should take this opportunity to think about this: what goes around, comes around.
